Well the energy minister Graham Stuart blamed the soaring energy prices on the dire situation inherited from Labour despite his party being in Government for 13 years, makes you wonder if people like him are suitable to be a minister.

What a set of comedians.

It would be funny if it wasn't so serious for so many people who are trying, and failing , to manage.

I suppose he thinks that Corbyn was the first bloke to get Covid too and spread it around.

The ministers we have, show why the country is on it's knees.

I have to agree with you it is not as if the government have acted in these 13 years to secure our energy supply, dithering about nuclear, can't make up its mind about fracking, stopping onshore wind generation and getting rid of gas storage facilities

When the Tory party came to power in 2010 only 6% of  UK energy was generated from renewable sources.  After nearly 13 years of Tory governments over 40% of UK energy comes from renewable sources.  Regarding nuclear power the Tory government has made a decision to have new nuclear power stations which something the Labour government did not do when they were in power for 13 years.

The decision made to grant the licence for the first new nuclear power station was made in 2012 which was 2 years after the Tory party became the government.  Nuclear power stations cannot be built overnight.

here is a progress report

So the Energy Minister Graham Stuart blames soaring energy prices on Laboour.

Is Graham Stuart, the Energy Minister at fault for receiving donations  from fuel and aviation companies, or was it their fault for shoving money into his pocket when he didn't want it?

It's the party of personal responsibility, putting personal responsibility into action again.

We've got the two largest windfarms in the world I believe.

but the percentage transfer towards renewables is also due to shutting down all the coal power stations.
