Many of the people there last night probably do far more than most SheffieldForum whingers do about problems faced here in the UK. I bet you the people there last night are far more likely to attend other protests, or write letters to their MP etc. than people who weren't.

Many do, but not sure it is a good idea for the Stand UP to Racism lot to invite CAGE to their meetings. On the other point, it depends what issues, open borders is popular with them not so popular with wider society.

The energy and intensity of this protest is very intense. People are very angry with T may as well, she clearly displayed the wrong picture in Washington.

be good if protests about privatisation, the NHS, etc were as intense and so well attended, actually it is mostly students, they disappear after the event, meanwhile the hard boring work on basic issues like housing is left to a hardy few.

My bold=

The ones getting angry are the ones who hold similar right wing discriminatory views as trump. If trump ends up dragging us into a world war the same people supporting him will be the ones that end up moaning and crying.

I think you have got this the wrong way round, it seems the people that are getting upset are the ones thathat are protesting.

A protest out side the Town Hall today about the closer of the Dementia centre on Hurlfield View at Gleadless .

This is a protest that all Sheffielders should back as it seems the Council can back and fund shopping centres and new Markets etc but have no money at all for the vital services that really count in this City.

Which shopping centres are the Council funding, please?

Those protesting are the usual Socialist Worker sponsored rent a mob, who don't represent the majority and never will, as has been proven time and time again at general elections and more recently at the referendum ...... a noisy minority.

Nope, that's not the gist of my post and that's not only a cheap shot but a nonsensical post by yourself too.

Likewise, the second para of your post is hugely contradictory.

Two words.

Mai Lai

I'm genuinely not sure what your point is? Mai Lai and atrocities committed during the Vietnam war are inexcusable. Had I been alive at the time and old enough to understand it I would have been very vocally protesting about it too. As I happens I've actually directly donation towards a prosecution to get America to pay reparations to the Vietnamese who are suffering from the after effects of Agent Orange. So as I said, not sure what your point is?

Or they are people who care enough about something to try to change things. You may not agree with what they are protesting about but to say they are a rent-a-mob is just pathetic.

It would be nice if some of the 2000 people who attended the Anti-Trump protest will attend, something tells me most won't be.

Well it wouldn't surprise me if the turnout is low, but then this is the first I and I suspect many others not directly involved have heard about it.

And since the post doesn't even give a time...no-one has time to hang about all day in case a protest they might agree with just happens to occur

Part of this is media including fb groups like Sheffield Online, it just isn't sexy enough to report on (if you can call anything to do with Trump "sexy" that is) so they don't bother spreading the word.
