Lib Dem Sheffield conference 11 March to cost SY police 2M

That is only the thin end of the wedge. They are building a 6 foot wall around the city hall to keep the people of Sheffield out!

Surely even Nick Griffin wouldn't need that!

If London do not want the Lib Dems then we should refuse them.

Why not have it on an island like Isle of Dogs, sounds appropriate!

£2,000,000 and a 6 foot wall is a bloody joke Scriven, you should resign for allowing it before we vote you out in May.

A proper council would have told the to sod off!

You know it's not actually an island, don't you?

Although you'd maybe find the fact that these days it's home to most of the world's bankers even more appropriate. ;)

As long as this soon to be extinct political party get to play at being part of a government, paying for the policing of their annual exercise in self-importantance is a burden we have to bear - along with Mr Clegg's future pension.

I assume the Lib Dems are paying for the hire of the Sheffield venue, so why don't we all say a polite thank you and let them have their little get-together without giving their leader any further excuses to demonstrate the particularly petulant lower lip wobble the now reserves for anything to do with Sheffield?

Any demonstration would only feed into their delusions of relevance.

How much does this compare with the multi million pounds costs of the pope's visit.

At least the lib dems are an elected political party that respect the civil liberties and human rights we expect in this country.

Nope, they were not elected, the tories were but not by a majority giving Clegg the opportunity to suck up and throw away the principles of a lot of his (Ex) supporters. Don't see what the pope's visit has got to do with it. Did he vote labour? Good Owd lad!

But they still have more influence than Labour as part of the coalition.

One of their MPs is the Deputy Prime Minister and in the absence of Mr. Cameron the most powerfull political figure in the country.
