old tup
Thats a good un about needing the money because Fletchers are not making profits if they hadn,t transfered a lot of production to Gunstones who were not profitable but now are, also no mention of the huge insurance payout from the fire that they trousered.Fletchers was always profitable until taken over by the asset strippers Vision Finance, rant over! MorningGlory
cheers, damophoto. sounds like they can only start work once they have got more detailed permissions regarding car parking, materials and detailing, landscaping, disabled access, drainage, energy efficiency and air pollution, plus reports on archaeologically interesting stuff and ecology etc. etc. Then there are more permissions to be sought after they've built the thing but before it can be occupied. I could see how far they've got on the council website but that decision was only 19th December 2011.

silverknight
An item on SCC planning dept web page that work was due to take place this week on recording data on the 'old fireplace' within the former travellers inn. It will be photographed and carefully removed and then given to Kelham Island Industrial Museum. Once this done the bulldozers will move in. marcster
I was once told by a landlord in the The Travellers that the fire place and chimney are listed, I don't know if this is true but if it is it should be a crime to remove it.

If you read this thread you will find that listed fireplace and chimney will be recorded in photograph form before being removed and given to Kelham Island Museum.
