had a letter yesterday saying that sainsburys was hoping to buy the land that fletchers was on i personaly think it would be good for around here an will give more jobs what do people think

I'm sure people would disagree just for the fact that its a supermarket.

 

They would probably be happy if the land stayed as it was - a derelict wasteland - out of sheer spite, rather than a major supermarket take it over.

Agreed. Supermarkets are well known for creating "land banks" just so competitors cannot build supermarkets in that area. Tesco were under investigation by the Competition Commission for this about 2 years ago I believe
