Unisol
We are talking about a car park aren't we? 1/ Why isn't it underground? 2/ Why isn't it underground? 3/ Why isn't it underground? 4/ Why does it look cheap and dated and sixties like? 5/ Why isn't it underground? 6/ Why does it look crap? People have been badgering about the Egg Box and council's load of identical and similar buildings to be built again. Moor markets carpak: naf Yorkshire Grey carpark: naf Velocity (is that it's real name?): naf Next to Velocity thing: in the way of The Moor and London Road and naf Centre: naf Columbia Place: naf Wicker things: how many more colours could they have used? It's a car-park! To park cars, not to make a statement. Why isn't it underground? Why ..... because that's where the Casino will be.
firecracker
The courts? Right there on Westgate, next to the Town Hall! The nondescript to the point of offensiveness apartment blocks you pass as you enter the station by train? The 'Kremlin'? K2? My home town is FULL of crap buildings, showing little imagination or boldness of thought. Sheffield is simply limping along in their wake, on the same dull path. If they build 'the Mister Man' however, I will forgive Sheffield. http://www.sheffielddigitalcampus.com/phases/phase_3/ Visitors to Leeds or the locals don't go there personally to go down to the courts (or at least the vast majority don't). But the Sheffield car park carbuncle could hardly be in a more prominent place.

And, yes, it certainly is no ravishing beauty.
heeleyrachel
it looks like a building that has been bombed...... with bits of metal and paper hanging out of all the windows.... Anyone else see what I mean??
Mr Sheffield
This one of the GREATEST buildings in the city centre, and is by far the best car park i`v ever seen!!some people just don`t appreciate daring architecture!
Mathom
If they build 'the Mister Man' however, I will forgive Sheffield. http://www.sheffielddigitalcampus.com/phases/phase_3/ That's almost identical to Moorfoot but made with curves instead of on a 'honeycomb' theme, and yet Moorfoot is coming down?! One of Sheffield's most interesting buildings and home to wildlife coming down after a few years...because they cannot afford to replace the windows!
