  3. The spare on the Espace has a big 130km/h printed on it, which is a crazy 80mph.
  4. It was a Sunday and they where returning to a garage approx 4 miles, as i said a short journey on the motorway between two junctions. To not take the motorway would have increased the journey time.
  5. Let me add my story to this thread. We recently had a flat so changed the wheel on our 04 plate Espace for the steel spare. As stated in the handbook we used the same bolts which where taken off the alloy. My wife then drove with our four kids on a short journey up the motorway. The car started to feel strange so so came off when safe too. On checking the spare discovered to her horror 4 of the 5 wheel bolts/nuts had gone. Obviously, we are all so grateful everyone was ok, but the consequences of what could have happen are unthinkable. I know that the wheel was on tightly and in my quest for answers have found various articles and posting on the internet that are all pointing to a hugh and very dangerous issue which needs highlighting - it is unsafe to use the same bolts from your alloy wheels on a space saving emergency spare. The thickness of the wheels, the materials and the length of the bolts can be all contributing factors to bolts loosing or as in our case either shearing or coming off although. I want to find other people that this has happen to and with what makes and models. It would seem that Mercedes have been concerned enough to place warnings on their space saver spare wheels in the form of stickers, say that the alloy bolts must not be used. This has to be highlighted before someone is killed or seriously hurt. please email me or reply on this thread regards Nik.
  6. Hello. Does anyone have any information regarding the old Amanda's Cafe building on Arundell Street. regards Nik
  7. Hi, For all you Blues out there, have seen the new offerings from the East Bank Gentlemens Club. Classics. http://www.eastbankgentlemensclub.co.uk
  8. you're referring to a post i made shortly before midnight of the 9/9/08. i'm convinced now what i saw was a meteor. however the accompanying load engine noise from a plain appearing to throttle down at an alarming speed immediately after seeing the 'what i now believe' to be a meteor, does still seem strange when i think a bout it. the direction it came from was fulwood
  9. nope. it was a meteor. we've already solve this one.
  10. i've just had a small extension completed by a company called Tunstall & Wade in the Wadsley area of Sheffield. They were extremely competitive, tidy and above all extremely attentive to the job in hand. The prices remained as discussed from the outset with no unforeseen 'extras'. I'm happy to send pictures to anybody interested. Their number is 07944317787
  11. yes. it had a green appearance to it and had a long trail.
  12. the sky to the left, as i stood looking towards loxley common appeared clear with perhaps low thin cloud arriving to my right. the light emanated from my left and came into view from above the roof tops disappearing as it went above the low cloud to my right. it moved at speed faster then perhaps a plane at low(ish) altitude heading towards manchester. there was no notable sound to accompany the light.
