  1. You might be better off notifying South Yorkshire Police as it may have been reported stolen.
  2. Only a thought but you could give Sheffield Pro Golf on Queens Road a call and see what they could do. They are a golf shop with loads of sets in stock and might be able to help you out. Their number is 0114 255 1969. Good luck with it!
  3. I see what you mean Johnny. Give the MTb a try and see how it goes. Makes sense. Couldn't agree more with you about the cycling and it's a great way to get some low impact fitness. I'd either go with the cheapest MTB or for me Plan B would be a cheap hybrid. I think Onewheeldave has hit the nail on the head aswell to stay away from cheap bikes with suspension. Good luck with it!! EDIT- just looked at the £99 Rockrider and it looks great.
  4. Have I got this right? You are thinking of buying a Mountain Bike for £100-£299 plus the price of a slick tyre to put you on for roughly two months before you buy a £299 road bike on the CTW scheme?
  5. Being threatened with a firearm may appear tricky but I did a course at work where we learned a couple of methods. The first is to shout "NO NO NO" in a shrill voice. That in itself has been known to cause attackers to drop their weapons and run off. If the attacker is a veteran of the armed attack arena you may need phase 2 of the defences. This involves you feigning deafness and asking the attacker to come closer to explain his demands as you can't hear them. Once "in range" you can revert to any one of the numerous weapons defences that appear on YouTube. Best one of course being the "looking up at the sky" trick whereupon you can either disarm the attacker or flee the scene.
  6. Do the death moves work if you haven't got an umbrella? What happens if the attacker doesn't wilt after you shout "No NO No" in a screechy voice and it's a sunny day? Is it then time to do the "What's that falling from the sky" trick and punch him on the nose? Btw you didn't say who the authority was.
  7. Hi, Fellow cyclist here. I popped the search term "cycling clubs Derbyshire" into a website called Google and it brought up a number of different cycling clubs links such as the Whirlow Wheelers. Have a look and see if any of them are suitable. Good luck with it.
  8. Just a quick thank you for the information. Very handy. I had gone to the website Greens mentioned but the information was identical to the original posting. All the stuff about strengthening and enhancing could apply to any amount of activities. Thanks again for the info.
  9. I am still baffled as to what it is so I'll have to give it a miss. Is it a martial art or like yoga?
  10. I'd be very interested too. Do you need any special clothing/equipment and how fit do you need to be? Thanks for any help.
  11. £8 per session or £40 for 5 weeks paid in advance. Where is the discount in that?
  12. Are they late 80s/early 90s? If so what better than an Acid House Rave to mark the new year?
  13. Save your money and start off by going walking. There are loads of websites with programmes for getting fit by walking, which if you really like you can build up to running. Otherwise it's a brisk walk to get started. Watch the diet as everyone I spoke to said exercise was important but diet was a big factor in the weight loss. Drink plenty of water aswell. The key as everyone has said is find something you like. I tried to like the gym but couldn't stay motivated. So whatever you will stick with is the answer be it walking/cycling/salsa dancing. Good luck!
  14. I'm not sure there isn't much choice. I have just counted 9 separate classes on this thread alone. Throw in Body Conditioning class at Kapap, Park Life Fitness and British Military Fitness and that's half a dozen more. Good luck with it.
  15. I'd give the Secretary a call. I'd be interested to see if they still have a joining fee as some clubs are dropping them to get people in.
