Couldn't agree more, and I haven't had any dealings with him for about 10 years. He was dodgy as? back then. Thoroughly unpleasant individual.

Please help find Shadow, husky dog, lost S36 area
jaypen replied to tarateets's topic in Sheffield Pet Owners
Has Shadow been found. There is a picture posted on Facebook with a caption saying that a husky had been found near Wigan he's been scanned and he's called Shadow from Sheffield. I've shared the post as has my daughter but haven't seen anything else about it. Fingers crossed its him. -
We have a rescue staffy. He's been a great addition to the household after losing our two staffys. (mother who we'd had 14 years and her son, who was born in the house and was nearly 11 when he died, five months before his mum.) I said I wouldn't have another. I couldn't face the heartbreak it caused us as a family. Anyway lasted 1 month and started looking at rescues... As you do and there he was. We rescued him and he helped us. No house is the same without a dog.

My granddaughter was lucky enough to get a big , giant pumpkin full of sweets off our lovely neighbours, and sensible enough to only eat 2 treats. She doesn't have that much of a sweet tooth so they should last her til well after Christmas. She loved the dressing up and whole Halloween experience,( all supervised by her aunty and myself.) As any 6 year old does.

There used to be a small shop at Wentworth garden center that did fabulous made to measure leather and brass collars and leads with matching detail. They were quite expensive but will last for years. I haven't been for a while but he probably is still there. You could look at the Wentworth website see if he's still trading.

Don't let your dog approach on lead dogs!
jaypen replied to vwkittie's topic in Sheffield Pet Owners
Another lovely walk ruined by idiot dog owners. My staffy's just been attacked by an off the lead border collie, my dog was on his lead the collie was with a golden lab the owners of both these dogs were ambling along miles in front, deep in conversation, oblivious to what the dogs were doing. The collie launched its self at my dog, owner didn't even turn round on hearing the commotion. When they eventually noticed that we were under attack from their dog they didn't even approach. Just looked whilst I got the situation under control. No sorry no acknowledgment nothing. If they are reading this they might want to ckeck their dogs face for cuts etc, my dogs ok but think he may have momentarily got hold of its cheek. -
Where were you supposed to park. There is absolutely zero parking spaces available round the children's. Under the circumstances it would be a very mercenary council that upheld this ticket. Sorry to hear about the loss of you're family member.

Benefit Street Being filmed in Sheffield
jaypen replied to haddy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Only if you believe what you see on tv. I drive to work at 7 am most days, if I leave 10 minutes later the roads are full of people making their way to WORK. This strange phenomenon happens 5 days a week and causes traffic problems for 2 to 3 hours in a morning and about the same amount of time from 3pm in the afternoon. City of workshy scroungers? Don't think so. Not interesting enough for a film crew though. -
We do the Huddersfield, Halifax, Keighley, Skipton, through Gargrave, to Settle route. Kids hated it when they were younger. We call it the scenic route. They called it "Are we nearly there yet???

Benefit Street Being filmed in Sheffield
jaypen replied to haddy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I hope your wrong. The police under pressure program shows sheffield in a bad enough light, without benefit claimants adding to the perceive under class that quite happily preen in front of any camera shoved in there face. Sheffield is being portrayed as a city full of losers, scroungers and immigrants. For the majority of hard working tax paying Sheffielders it's embarrassing to witnesses this portrayal of our city. -
Any news. Hope he turns up soon.

My partners been watching the live feed for about the last hour and a half, he's getting a bit concerned that neither parent birds have been near the nest. Is this normal for them to leave them for so long?

Normanton Hill/Jasmyn Chan/ Police appeal/ Man charged
jaypen replied to backintday's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Seeing Jasmyn's parents doing their appeal today broke my heart. They are both obviously devastated. If the person who is responsible for this callous act was watching them and doesn't come forward. They must have a heart of stone. Those poor parents. My kids must have crossed that road hundreds of times when they were younger. As did many others. It makes you realise. It could have been any one of them. R I P Jasmyn. -
Cannot recommend Sheffield Window Center highly enough. We have had them fit Windows in this house and our previous home. No fuss, no hard sell. They turn up, do the job and honour the warranty. Although not much has gone wrong other than general wear and tear. (New locks, lubricating window mechanisms.) Things that in fairness come under maintenance, that we should have done.

He's probably keeping a low profile. -
I started vaping six and a half months back. Wanted to pack up smoking. I did feel like crap for the first few weeks. I put it down to being on nights for a week three weeks after taking up vaping. Had the worse case of mouth ulcers too. Any how. Not had a cig for 28 weeks now. Not vaped for nearly 12 weeks. I have never had as many colds, coughs or sore throats since I stopped smoking, that's supposedly all good. You're throat and mouth are recovering. Vaping has had the desired effect for me. I don't smoke any more, I'm better off, I smell better, I don't have to sneak out of work at lunch time for a cig, I hopefully won't suffer from the heart problems that killed my Dad. That was my major reason for giving up the weed. Keep on with it Mega. You will feel the benefit eventually. Good luck.

Normanton Hill/Jasmyn Chan/ Police appeal/ Man charged
jaypen replied to backintday's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
R I P. Young lady. She saved her friends life if whats being said is right. Can't imagine how her her family are coping. I've had conversations with people who knew her today, a very well loved friend to all who knew her. So sad to see all the upset teenagers laying flowers for her. -
Cannot believe that some of these heartless morons are saying they felt duped into donating. Nobody made them donate. If it bothers them that much why don't they ask the charity for a refund. Stephen doesn't benefit personally from the donations, he was doing it for other people in his sad position. He thought he'd be gone. I Hope this inspirational young man's medical team keep on working to keep him with us and enjoying the time he has left for as long as possible
