  1. You might want to get down to Hobbycraft. Today I picked up some modelling clay from the kids section. It bakes in the oven and was only a £1 for a 58g packet. Can't see the difference between this "kids" version, other than the choice of colours; think primary colours and neon, and the normal stuff. It bakes at 130°C. Presumably it bakes just as hard and can be mixed like other polymer clays. It was originally £1.99 for a packet, so don't know how long it will be a £1 for.
  2. Hi, Sorry for the delay. This is the pendent I made: Have you started making anything yet?
  3. Bought a Chicco Travel System but it wasn't really suitable for going for walks around Wincobank, too hard and heavy to push up the hills! Ended up buying a Petite Star Zia 2 as I couldn't really afford another travel system. It is much better as it lighter but I don't like the fact that my son is facing away from me. However, my sister-in-law bought one of these for her son: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Q7-Exclusive-pram-pushchair-stroller-CAR-SEAT-included-from-Baby-Merc-Free-P-P-/160890742743?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item2575d5e7d7&_uhb=1 She let me try it out before he was born. Although it was heaver than the Chicco, because of the pneumatic tyres and suspension it was a lot easier to push and didn't feel as heavy. So I ended up buying one as it is a lot cheaper than other travel systems out there. I now have the Zia 2 and Baby Merc Q7. The Zia still comes in handy and I imagine as he gets older it will get used more and more. I sold the Chicco.
  4. No one has said there are no jobs just not at the job fair. What's the point of telling people on JSA there will be loads of jobs at the fair when there wasn't? There might be loads of jobs out there but they weren't advertised at the fair according to the posters who visited it. I have been on job seekers myself. The idea of wasting bus fare out of the very little I got every week would have upset me too.
  5. Not sure what the site looked like before and I appreciate that you want it to loader faster but I think it a bit too plain and simple. More colour and photos would really help. Also the image which links to http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/ is missing.
  6. From Council website: "Cost of Getting Married There are statutory fees for giving the notice of intention to marry of £35.00 for each of you and a single fee of £45.00 for a marriage in the Register Office. The fees for marriage ceremonies at approved premises vary but are more expensive. Please contact the appropriate Register Office for details. Certificates cost £4 each on the day of the marriage but copy certificates may be obtained at a later date for the standard fee of £10 each. Request copy certificates." It says on the website latest time is 6 p.m. But when I got married I'm pretty sure they said that they would marry you at the latest 5 p.m. This is because the ceremony has to be done by 6 p.m. at the latest so they wouldn't want to start after 5 p.m. in case there was any sort of delay and it couldn't be finished in time. Although I got married in a hotel, so it might be different times if you get married at the registry office itself. https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/your-city-council/register-office/getting-married.html#whereandwhen
  7. I'm at the wrong side of town, so don't know about the Norton area. If you are breastfeeding there might be a breastfeeding group near you. I live in Wincobank and there are playgroups at Brightside School/Childrens Centre. Might be worth looking at what school and nurseries near you offer.
  8. October 21st The Fitzwilliam Arms Hotel, Taylors Lane, Parkgate, Rotherham, S62 6EE
  9. My wipes come out clean, even when he has dropped a massive log (it amazes me sometimes how much a small child can poo). You can always rinse off the wipes down the toilet if there's a lot stuck to them*. *Oh the things you end up discussing when you have children!
  10. I'm using Bambino Mio two part nappies. I did find that they leaked though when my son was a newborn. So I ended up using some other cloth nappies, don't what they were as they where given to me second hand from my sister-in-law. Those ones wrapped around him and where held in place with velcro tabs and some had poppers. A cover was then put on top. However as he got older I found the Bambino nappies much better and that is all I use now. I also bought some boosters and reusable fleece liners from eBay. For anyone using cloth nappies I would recommend reusable baby wipes: http://www.cheekywipes.com/ As I am having to wash my nappies anyway, washing the wipes is easy as they just go in the same load.
  11. Out of interest is there anyway that tickets can be bought online? Just in case any one sees this thread and wants to buy a ticket.
  12. I got mine from Jewellery Maker as I was buying some other stuff from them so bought it at the same time (cheaper than Hobbycraft but not the cheapest): http://www.jewellerymaker.com/searchAccessories.aspx#Type=Polymer Clay/page=1. But next time I will probably be buying from eBay. Found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-X-BLOCKS-SCULPEY-PREMO-ACCENTS-111-III-POLYMER-CLAY-72-COLOURS-FREE-P-P-/160877996453?pt=UK_Crafts_PapercraftTools_RL&hash=item25751369a5&_uhb=1#ht_5632wt_1066. They work out at £1.42 per block. If I get chance I will upload a picture of a pendant I made using the mokume gane technique. It's really easy to do but I think the end results look really good. I will need some clay soon as I have been so busy that I'm starting to run out! I think it's addictive.
  13. I buy my modelling clay online. You can get it at Hobbycraft but it won't be cheap! I have learn't a few things off Youtube by watching tutorials and also experimenting. Is there something particular you want to learn or just starting from the basics and learning bead making in general? I am only really started bead making myself properly within the last two weeks. Have played around before but not really learn't any specific techniques until now. So far I have found you can make some really nice looking beads and pendants without having to do anything too complicated. Some techniques look pretty impressive when you have finished but don't take a lot of skill.
  14. My sister bought copper distressed looking bird cages. She has created flower centerpieces to go in them. I think she got the flowers and bird cages off eBay. When in Hobbycraft I found something called snowreal, it's fake snow that you can mould. She is having a Winter wedding so I thought it make come in handy for something. She's not decided what to do with it yet but one idea was to put it in jars and use candles to light up the snow. Do you have a budget? What's your theme or wedding colours?
  15. You might want to get this thread moved to the tech section for better responses. I'm guessing that you don't know any HTML or CSS from looking at your sites code. Learn HTML and CSS then rebuild your site without Dreamweaver.
  16. Your could try Tracy's Clothing Alterations, 8 Church Street, Sheffield S35 9WE, Tel: 01142 462866. She altered my wedding dress I think it only cost £40 or so. It needed taking in around the bust. My sister is also getting her wedding dress altered by her.
  17. You will need to declare your income, which you should also do if you carry on selling on eBay but decide not to get a website. Either way you are selling items regularly to make a profit so the income needs to be declared. You might find this link useful: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/businesses/index.shtml
  18. REMINDER: Please do not advertise your own services in the Wedding Group. Also, I second the recommendation for Monica Hewitt. She did the flowers for my wedding. Came up with an idea for my bouquet that I had not seen before - very simple but effective.
  19. CLOSED TOPIC as OP has found a make-up artist.
  20. Please use the forum search facility before posting a new thread. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=409036&highlight=selling+wedding+dress and http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=783311&highlight=selling+wedding+dress You can also sell dresses on the classifieds section.
  21. Don't think it is as bad as the first two. I prefer the typeface on that one.
  22. Some really nice stuff there, especially the polymer clay jewellery.
  23. I have seen something similar to the foil wrapping paper you get but thicker. Does anyone know where you can get this from or what it is called? My son was playing with some at the breastfeeding group and I mean't to ask what it was but forgot. It was the same colour on both sides. It was crunchy opposed to more rustley (not like the thin wrapping paper kind). It was a plastic type material, very shiny.
  24. In stock here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bumbo-EA115-Play-Tray/dp/B001Q3M3KU £13.49 + £1.00 delivery
  25. I think this would work if you are only having a buffet but not a sit down meal. OK with a buffet as some people will be standing at the bar/walking around/outside smoking/etc so there will always be seats spare so plenty of flexibility. But for a seat down meal everyone will be sat down at the same time. You might end up with couples/families sat at the opposite end of the room because they can't sit on the same table together.
