  1. But won't children carry on doing and saying what their parents do and think through learned behaviour ? How do we change that ?
  2. Don't think I could trust Miliband: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/general-election-2015/politics-blog/11499438/Ed-Miliband-is-peddling-a-lie-about-his-volte-face-on-Syria.html
  3. This reminds me of Motorheads drummer 'philthy animal Taylor' who originates from Chesterfield, who when he broke his hand insisted on playing, he had his sticks taped to his hands with gaffer tape, he also played with a neck brace on after a broken neck. eeeeh lad. Louise Mensch, married to Metallicas manager I believe.
  4. Looks like things are hotting up: Jeremy Clarkson fired: Top Gear fans threaten not to pay their TV licence after host is dropped http://metro.co.uk/2015/03/25/jeremy-clarkson-fired-top-gear-fans-threaten-not-to-pay-their-tv-license-after-host-is-dropped-5120350/ Louise Mensch wrote: ‘Britain has got so pathetically wimpy. ‘When I was a kid two blokes would have taken it outside and brushed it off.
  5. I'm so pleased this little boy has come through this and is on the mend.
  6. With recent news that just about a third of all council tax goes on staff pensions there simply isn't enough cash and it's only going to get worse as councils cut more and more to save staff pensions. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3005730/Third-council-tax-spent-staff-pensions-warns-leading-council-finance-chief.html
  7. You may be right, it hasn't been reported yet exactly who the rapists were just that it's been happening on an epic scale, I certainly haven't said they were muslims, there has been one report though that said 6 arrests have been made and they were Iraqi Kurds, what religion they were I haven't got a clue nor do I care, just that I want to see all the perpetrators brought to justice whoever they are, but you can bet your life that there will be many young girls who haven't reported this has happened to them.
  8. Well lets hope that all the groomers/Rapists in Rotherham/Sheffield are all brought to justice because by god there are a lot of them. People are rightly concerned because this is happening in their home town and why shouldn't they be. This thread needs to be kept alive because only by bringing it out into the open and talking about it will something be done, but alas I see it getting shut down because of the refusal to acknowledge what's going on by certain people.
  9. On the BBC it's been said by one Police Officer that there were probably over 800 perpetrators and there was evidence of organized gangs, most of the girls were aged between 12 and 15 this thing just can't be ignored anymore, it's way too big. I would like to see every one of those 800 men brought to justice along with all the dirty sleaze bags in Rotherham and every other town in Britain where this abuse has gone on, brought to justice. What on earth were the powers that be thinking about covering up such large scale abuse? Heads should roll for this.
  10. I think it probably is going on elsewhere maybe not on the same scale but I think sadly it has been or still is happening. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28953549 edit: as of May last year the police were investigating 54 child grooming gangs in England and Wales. "Lord Taylor said 2,409 children and young people had been confirmed as victims of sexual exploitation by gangs or groups between August 2010 and October 2011." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22617339
  11. Yes this is true, the reason I wanted to hear her was because she gave such a good interview on Sky when she addressed an audience of students, much better than Cameron, Miliband or Clegg.
  12. I was thinking the same thing, so decided to listen to Natalie Bennett on LBC this morning so that I could get a feel for green policies, I wish I hadn't it was mindblowingly bad, has to be the worst interview given by any party leader. http://www.lbc.co.uk/incredibly-awkward-interview-with-natalie-bennett-105384
  13. I was in the process of posting again when JFK replied with a link which carried more information :-), Although some of the surveys make interesting reading
  14. Point taken, there was also this quote at the end: "They also show that there is a huge diversity of views among different Muslim countries and that people’s beliefs can change dramatically in a few years. A fact that is not seemingly reflected in the Ben Shapiro video."
  15. According to this guy Channel 4 - Factcheck - Ben Shapiro 800 million are radicalised. “We’re above 800 million Muslims who are radicalised – more than half the Muslims on earth. That’s not a minority… the myth of the tiny radical Muslim minority is just that: it’s a myth.” Ben Shapiro I hope he's wrong, he defines a radical as someone who agrees with a number of different views set out in various opinion polls. http://blogs.channel4.com/factcheck/factcheck-worlds-muslims-radicalised/19899
  16. That's great news & what we Brits do best, poke fun at ourselves, on another note I notice they did have a puppet of Osama Bin Laden but it was never used.......................................... I wonder why? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spitting_Image
  17. What I want to know is why do some muslims really think (he who must be obeyed) really would be offended by a cartoon. I'm with the ones who think otherwise. It really is a ludicrous situation, bring back Spitting Image I say.
  18. Probably not , IMO there needs to be a good clear out, starting from the top. "The researcher claims she was approached by two officers while she was in her car at night, to be told it would be a ‘bad thing’ if the abusers she was investigating found out her home address. The researcher, who has not been named, gave evidence in a private session to the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee yesterday, and said she ‘feared for her life’ as a result of harassment in connection with her work." http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/news/local/researcher-who-tried-to-expose-rotherham-abuse-feared-for-life-after-police-officers-threat-1-6831507#.VBHrY-pvPPl.twitter
  19. I was listening to Sky News this morning, they had an exclusive interview with the whistleblower he told them that he told HMRC seven years ago which means both Labour & the Tories knew, also 99% of what went off is still to be revealed.
  20. Well lets hope this is the start of many arrests in Rotherham. Although I'm not holding my breath.
  21. There's certainly a political storm brewing about this, more here: Earlier this morning Financial Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke released this statement: ‘It is for HSBC to explain what they did to ensure their clients complied with the tax law. But it for the City Minister in years up to 2007, Ed Balls, to make an urgent statement about what he knew about all this and why the then government allowed tax avoidance and evasion to take place on such a scale.’ http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/2015/02/david-gauke-ed-balls-has-questions-to-answer-on-hsbc-leak/
  22. I can't help but think if the Labour party had done something about this over a decade ago when Ann Cryer brought it to light then we may not be in this position now, as Denis McShane said" the former MP for Rotherham, admitted he might have not done enough about child sexual exploitation by Asian men in his constituency because he was a "Guardian-reading liberal leftie" I have nothing but praise for what Ann Cryer tried to do and the same for Sarah Champion, I hope the powers that be will now do something about this and stop it at source before we see it spread like a cancer throughout Britain http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/aug/30/rotherham-girls-could-have-been-spared-ann-cryer
  23. It's the tip of the iceberg, this from the mirror There could be up to a million victims of child sexual exploitation in the UK, it is feared. Rotherham’s Labour MP Sarah Champion describes it as a “national disaster” and is demanding a taskforce to fight the “horror. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror the shaken MP has told how she ‘nearly lost her mind’ after victims turned to her for help - unable to trust the police or local council. "It was utterly mind-blowing and then the problem I had was that I was getting new cases coming to me, ones that hadn’t been reported which they wanted me to report. But I didn’t know who I could trust in the police to report it.For the first three weeks I generally thought I was losing my mind, because of the level of depravity and horror There was this parallel universe going on and it is mindblowing." http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/child-sex-abuse-gangs-could-5114029
  24. A copy of the report can be downloaded from this page https://rotherhampolitics.wordpress.com/2015/02/07/hold-them-to-account-news-of-a-petition/
