  1. The presence of the sneering anti UKIP trolls only serves to convince me that Nigel has done the right thing
  2. I can't take Chuka Umunna seriously, not after the comments he made on an exclusive social network website about nighclubs being full of trash, although it's true he later apologised.
  3. If every vote counted, here’s how many seats each party would have #proportional representation #GE2015 Conservative 240 Labour 198 UK Independence Party 83 Liberal Democrat 51 Scottish National Party 31 Green 25 Others 6 Democratic Unionist Party 4 Sinn Fein 4 Plaid Cymru 4 Ulster Unionist Party 3 Social Democratic and Labour Party 2 Alliance 1 https://twitter.com/hashtag/GE2015?src=hash
  4. Dozens of ballot papers in Darlington miss off local Ukip candidate but election goes ahead anyway http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/generalelection/dozens-of-ballot-papers-in-darlington-miss-off-local-ukip-candidate-but-election-goes-ahead-anyway-10232476.html
  5. Past governments have had plenty of time to get the country back on track and eliminate the deficit as well as plan for an increase in population by embarking on a school building programme a better NHS and more housing, but they chose not to invest and instead we had 200,000 youngsters applying for 20,000 nurses training places, and health authorities recruiting from abroad instead, it's mad. How can anyone seriously believe what they are telling us, Miliband is so well rehearsed that he's inline for this years Oscar it's laughable, just how anybody can vote for the same old beats me, it's plainly obvious that governments on both sides are to blame but people are just walking around with their eyes shut and trying to absolve past governments (mainly Labour) of any responsibility by deflecting the blame onto UKIP, nice try, but it won't work.
  6. I don't think I've ever seen such bile and venom spitted towards a party that's never been in government, they have no record for which to be judged. It's plain to see that those spouting it are all party activists of some sort.
  7. This is true, two labour candidates suspended in past week for fraud and one on the same day for drink driving ??? UKIP have said that they will look at the vetting procedure after the election, seems to me that all of the parties need to do the same.
  8. Looks like the results of the postal votes are worrying for Labour: http://labour-uncut.co.uk/category/uncut/ ---------- Post added 03-05-2015 at 16:05 ---------- "Labour insiders familiar with the latest figures have told Uncut that the picture for Labour in marginal seats, where it is fighting the Tories, is almost uniformly grim"
  9. It's interesting, I was listening to James Obrian on LBC radio the other day and his topic was Champagne Socialists and why people thought they were unable to relate to the working class because they had money, are you saying that he too can't relate to the working class because he was born into a rich family. I think Farage can relate to the working class, he says it how it is and doesn't pull any punches, the people like his straight talking manner. Farage was raised by his mum after his father left the family, we all have different experiences in life, maybe that's what makes him so down to earth.
  10. The trouble with the opinion polls is there is such a huge gap between them, UKIPs range is somewhere between 10 and 18%, and this doesn't take into account the silent vote.
  11. Good , did you spot Bunny Laroche after her Question Time stint popping up yet again in another BBC report.
  12. I heard this too but to be fair to the man it was reported that he was quoting from some sort of security report that had been published. ---------- Post added 30-04-2015 at 07:08 ---------- this, of course could be a load of tosh:
  13. You haven't seen the 'Class War Party' then, they want to rehouse the homeless in Buckingham Palace ---------- Post added 29-04-2015 at 19:47 ---------- Here's Adam Cliffords interview on the Daily Politics http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32497600
  14. I read that most of the people were Eritrean & Ethiopian, and it's been going on for some time: Eritrea and its emigrants Why they leave Eritreans are taking to the seas because of worsening conditions at home http://www.economist.com/news/middle-east-and-africa/21587844-eritreans-are-taking-seas-because-worsening-conditions-home-why-they ---------- Post added 26-04-2015 at 18:36 ---------- "Three more boats containing a total of 1,150 Eritrean and Ethiopian migrants are headed to Italy after sailing from the Libyan coast last night, an Eritrean activist and an aid organisation have told IBTimes UK." http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/libya-migrants-boats-1150-refugees-head-italy-wake-drowning-disaster-1496555 ---------- Post added 26-04-2015 at 18:49 ---------- compulsory military service is one of the reasons they give for fleeing .
  15. I hope not, I lived in Scotland for 20 years and knew a few Nationalists, they hated the English. Labour have lost touch with the common man, the Scots know this I wonder how long it will take the English to realise it ?
  16. Will they be the voice of the low paid worker, not in any union, working for a sole trader or just public sector like labour
  17. I agree with all of this, what amazes me though is I've spotted two or three items I've donated to charity shops marked up at a higher price than I purchased them for.
  18. Maybe it's a class thing and the audience is made up mainly of middleclass/student types.
  19. Somehow or other i just can't take Ed Miliband seriously, he didn't turn and look straight at the camera when answering the questions last night as much as he did in the last debate, but he still managed it a few times which left us all in fits of laughter, he's just so staged. He totally ruled out doing a deal with the Nationalists in Scotland, so just who will Labour do a deal with, or is he lying?
  20. But surely the British people living abroad will only get the treatment that is available in that Country and most of it is nothing like what's available for free in the NHS.
  21. = Generally speaking I tend to ignore a lot of what the Telegraph = Tory or Guardian = Labour say, but this article was written by Dan Hodges who I think may have an insight into what actually happened seeing as he was I think a member of the Labour party for 27 years and is the son of Glenda Jackson and also wrote for both papers. Oh by the way I'm no Tory, I much prefer Alan Johnson to Ed Miliband.
