  1. I've had excellent results with a cheap bin I bought from B&Q. Drilled a bunch of holes in it first, and just chucked everything in. Mixed it up every so often, along with Garotta compost maker, and bingo. Getting some worms in there as well will help a lot !
  2. BT would never have taken it over, different tech used in the cabinets etc. they wouldn't have got their hands dirty with that. No, is the simple answer. Apart from maybe BT. Keep an eye on the website I posted to start this thread, later on this year they are promising a postcode checker that should eventually give you an idea when it's going to be upgraded. Welcome to 19th century Sheffield !
  3. I have highlighted the section where you stated you were cheaper, so forgive me for not having much faith in a business that can't get it's own facts straight. My suggestion is to hold off on posting on here until you have a proper website working, with residential customer offers, postcode checker etc. and let your offers speak for theirselves. There are many people on here who have burnt by Origin Broadband and I assure you that will not happen again.
  4. Then why did you state you are cheaper than both Virgin and BT? I would suggest this is a ropey, fly by night operation posting here in the hope that some people will fall for your, frankly, poor sales patter. At least Origin broadband had some decent patter before they screwed their customers over! Until I can see reasons, otherwise I would suggest people avoid "Hawkify" for their internet service provision..
  5. Best bet at the minute is to keep an eye on this website: http://www.superfastsouthyorkshire.co.uk/ as eventually this will give timelines and a postcode checker. Until then, keep on guessing like the rest of us !
  6. If you're connected to the Sheffield Exchange, as I am, then at present you have no hope of getting a FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) connection as the Sheffield exchange is yet to be upgraded. Work is ongoing with this however, so please register your interest here; http://www.superfastsouthyorkshire.co.uk/ You may be lucky and live in a Virgin Media area, so you might be able to get something from them. I would suggest looking at SamKnows to find out whats available to you; https://www.samknows.com/broadband/
  7. With the demise of Digital Region, i'm sure many, like myself have been left with sub-par broadband speeds. The council have taken up with the BDUK Superfast Broadband Extension project, and it now appears to be moving forward. After a bit of digging it turns out there is a website for it, bit sparse at the minute but I would encourage everyone who's been screwed over by the DRL failure to register and complete the survey! http://www.superfastsouthyorkshire.co.uk/ Let's hope we see some real action on this very soon.
  8. Good news! Now let's get the all the recycling sites back open, all the time rather than this "some closed, some open" nonsense.
  9. This seems to be their new tactic, can't come up with a good response or evidence = stick head in sand and ignore the customer. Great customer service eh, Easy Livin' !
  10. You are truly hilarious. Never have I come across someone so pig headed and ignorant towards the truth. I guess you've picked your position now eh, don't want to look stupid by admitting your wrong. U-Turns don't help anyone ! Well that's fine, I think everyone else understands what really happened and you'll just get marked down as the loony in all this.
  11. I'll carry on giving my experience(s), you continue to stick your head in the sand and pretend the service gave by Origin was acceptable. All the while ignoring the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
  12. My post was full of facts. The problem is, as a shill, you refuse to believe any of the points on there. I will repeat one FACT from my previous list; Origin actively censored paying customers posts from their Facebook page. They did this initally on an individual basis, then eventually when they realised the stream of people they had screwed over, by removing the entire "Update" thread from their page and making it read only. Is the good customer service? Is that the BEST way to keep your customers informed? Or is it just a case of "la la, head in the sand until people go away" mentality?
  13. And you're an Origin shill. If anyone cares to browse the DRL forum they will see for themselves that it's not a soapbox for anyone to be anti-Origin. Origin brought about any bad feelings on theirself, I could go in to a multitude of reasons why people don't, and shouldn't, trust Origin any more. The DRL forum provided 100% more support, advice, help and reassurance than Origin. Remember, Origin are the company who did NOTHING to help their customers smoothly transition away from the DRL network until it was TOO LATE. They provided NO updates as to what was happening, they REPEATEDLY never made callbacks to people when promised. They took money from people for the August bill when they KNEW they could not provide a full month of service. They CENSORED people on Facebook, which at the time was the ONLY place they were communicating (barely), and there is strong evidence they have now hired some PR people to improve their image. Hah, too late. They have wasted money on paying for Brian Blessed to record their IVR when this money should have been spent on COMMUNICATING to their customers. And, the one that winds me up the most, they hire people on APPRENTICE wages to sell their service. What. The. Hell. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Now take your pro-Origin bias and show us how they have provided a great service to their customers?
  14. I'm always a bit sceptical of statements published in The Star, so i've gone back out to David Oliver to hopefully clarify some further points with him. I'll post back here when I get a reply, hopefully it'll make things a bit clearer.
  15. I am quietly confident that the Sheffield (SLSF) and Attercliffe (SLAC) will be upgraded with the Council, BDUK and BT funding. The main exclusion zone for Sheffield is the City Centre, and I was interested to find out how BDUK defined the centre so I went out to David Oliver, who's job title within the council is "Solutions Architect - Business Change and Information Solutions (BCIS)" and is the contact on the council website for the new BDUK scheme. (My bold on the last section) This to me means that as the SLSF exchange serves many people outside of the excluded area there is no reason not to upgrade this and roll out the cabinets outside of the exclusion zone. I asked for a map of the excluded areas and was provided with this; http://imgur.com/5Ytm9s5 And finally from David;
  16. This should answer a couple of your questions; http://www.taxpayersalliance.com/waste/2013/07/happened-repos.html
  17. I don't think you are grasping this properly. It should not have been there in the first place. This is not a council tip, they have no refuse licence to dump waste on here even on a "temporary" basis. This is land donated to the people of Sheffield, for the use of the people of Sheffield and maintained in trust. As has been explained many times, the Charities Commission confirmed this is charitable land and should be used as parkland, it is NOT a dump.
  18. This is it in a nutshell. I don't give a stuff about "breakdowns" or other such excuses, there were plenty of working vans to dump it there in the first place. The council has ZERO defence to their fly tipping and defacement of a public park and anyone coming to their defence should feel ashamed that they have been taken in by their lies and less-than-half truths in this matter.
  19. Jack Scott is always pretty active on Twitter, so I asked him what was happening, this is what I got back; Jack Scott ‏@Jack_Scott 26m understand is beig sorted tomorrow. Was because a vehicle broke down. 7:41 PM - 14 Jul 2014 So keep an eye out, should be all clear tomorrow !
  20. Good news, welcome aboard! I have a plot on there and we have a small allotment society starting up at the minute, it's early days but we do have a shop and hopefully will be turning that plot into a community site. If you are interested in joining up to the society when you get your plot, send me a PM or come along to the open day we are having soon. Good luck! Phil
  21. I'm not sure if they do Siku cars, but you could try Antics on Fitzallen Square; http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/2512_1_1461526.html
  22. Might be best just to download and burn the ISO on to a new CD. As long as you have a genuine activation key, there's no real problem. http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/
  23. http://www.yorkshirewater.com/extra-services/in-your-area.aspx Will get you the water quality analysis for your area. (Without the anti-Capitalist ranting)
  24. This seems a pretty straightforward guide.. good ol' Google; http://tech.deepumohan.com/2012/11/how-to-unlock-samsung-galaxy-ace-for.html
  25. Could you expand on this at all Pete? Slipping some news out in a very subtle manner, I hope..
