  1. If anyone can pick up this ferret it sounds like a very tame and much loved pet that is missing from Stannington.
  2. I'm surprised that no one is looking for this one, its a lovely ferret, please ask about if you live in Gleadless area.
  3. Lovely ferret found yesterday morning on Gleadless road S12, must be someones pet as well cared for and handled, please message for details.
  4. There are some beautiful flats at Roman ridge Wincobank, 2 bedrooms and a very good size, they are a complex with door security so no one can just walk in, some have balconies and the back ones have a lovely view of the back garden and woodland where there are squirrels and foxes etc to watch if you like that sort of thing. They are for independent living, but when its needed there carers/cleaners there to help, there are clubs and a restaurant, buses just round the corner...some are rented some are privately owned.
  5. Just had a look and yes at least some may well be Larch, I guess the new trees will take hold well in their place and the variety will be better in the long run, its a sad sight though.
  6. This does sound right to be fair, its just so sad to see all the stumps where trees once were, I can't help but wonder where the animals and birds have gone, and like Taxman think its not the best time of year to be felling them...just a bit sad.
  7. I have noticed that large areas of pine woods are being cleared at Bradfield and wondered if anyone knows why? It seems such a shame for the birds and animals that live in the woods there .
  8. I think generally scratching posts etc are very poor quality, under the rope all it is made from is cardboard tubes which tend to collapse, why not recycle the rope from your old one and make your own, get a small tree stump and fix a platform on top will probably last an awful lot longer, it will be much stronger, and she can really get her claws into it.
  9. What a horror story, thank goodness that you realised that no one was coming to the animals, disgusting behaviour of the pet sitter, barring something terrible happening to her I just cannot think of an acceptable excuse for what she did. Would you please message e with who this was? I wouldn't like anyone else to go through this.
  10. Well a 2nd opinion can do no harm at all and might set your mind at rest, I hope that it goes the right way x
  11. If they did an ultra sound then the diagnosis is probably correct, I know well what you mean about how they made you feel though things got better there before but now it seems very pressurised, in the end the animals will suffer when people cant face taking them.
  12. I think things like throws, blankets etc but I would give them a ring to just check.
  13. All that will happen is that the original contribution will be very small if people also have to pay for meds, the PDSA have become very guilt inducing about the payments and yes I know its a charity and they need money, but its fast moving away from being a help for people in desperate need. Yes animals are going to suffer, they need a re think. That is correct yes
  14. No they dont take them as the dogs shred them.
  15. I am so desperate to keep hens but sadly cant where I live, I hope that all of these little Ladies get lovely new lives
  16. There probably aren't many kittens yet, kitten season will be upon us very soon so keep asking at the rescues.
  17. It does sound like a lurcher, which is a crossbreed so still more or less a mongrel its just a particular mix, my first ever dog was bought for me by my Grandad 40 years ago, Cocker Spaniel x Poodle and she cost him £5 he was outraged and said he was robbed these days she is a Cocker poo and now worth at least £500, that would have probably killed him haha.
  18. I have looked into this a bit, for the 2nd animal its not cheaper treatment its only the consultation, which is £26 for the first visit then drops to £20 for the 2nd visit for the same illness (I think that was right anyway) I then checked at the vet I use (Beech house at High green) there consultation for a dog is £21 and for the 2nd consultation it drops to £16...work that one out, not doing people much of a favour really are they?
  19. If it was my choice (which obviously it isn't 😛 ) then no dont let her back, but I would allow the baby here as it is an innocent and not going to have the best of lives there, it would go up for adoption and the family have no rights to it, total fresh start.
  20. What animals is it and how are they getting into your home?
  21. I have messaged you, if I can help in any way with advice or anything you need to know just ask 😊
  22. That does sound like what you would pay anywhere for the treatment, a bit on the expensive side. I thought that the other named pets were supposed to have cheaper treatment...still cheaper than the regular vet? I was wondering how it worked myself as it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere.
