  1. Niagaras fun when the waters high. Hit the water vertical, fully submerge the boat and pop back out backwards. Its even better going over rear first! Just contemplating joining the OP and commuting the odd day on a bike. Journey would be Maltby to near the Ski Village (Rutland Road). Thinking down thro’ Wickersley and Whiston (yeah I know the roadworks are there) thro’ Canklow to Meadowhall and then thro Attercliffe. Any alternative ideas?
  2. Depends what size skip. I called 2 places a couple of weeks ago, asked for smallest skip. They were both around £50. Still ended up doing a tip run in the car
  3. Goto Amazon and get ‘Zinn and the art of mountain bike maintenance’ Should sort you out for any future problems. Failing that, try the ‘WhatMTB’ forum. http://www.whatmtb.com/forum Plenty of friendly advice
  4. Anyone help me I believe Chinese martial arts have a competition where the ‘ring’ isn’t roped off, but is a raised platform, I think an earth platform. This was discussed on here a while ago, but I can’t find the thread. Anyone know what this type of competition is called? Thanks
  5. I live in the Rotherham area, have done all my life. The town centre is dead.
  6. what the title says really. Mate wants to know if the Dronfield BJJ club does any 'No Gi' sessions. If so, he's asked for details. Ta.
  7. Got tescos freetrial for 3 months... You could copy them overnight and send them back, to get a store of films you haven't seen....but that would be illegal;)
  8. Just been asked, by someone I work with, to ask for this as well. Thanks
  9. "I'm NOT lovin' it!! Burger Fiasco!! Share your experiences " My experience over the last year of the golden arches has been disappointed kids. They advertise to kids, not how good there food is, but by selling the toys in the ‘Happy Meals’. Usually tied into current films or cartoons. It’s a pity kids can have short memories as 50% of the time the toys they’re pushing on telly either haven’t arrived or have sold out. Because of this they hand out toys that are months old. Out of the 50% of times they are current I’ve had to go back , call or email complaints as although I’ve clearly said ‘boys’ they’re served with ‘Bratz’, ‘Totally Spies’ etc. Think I’ve finally weaned them off Maccys as they’re now known as ‘the nasty people who mess the toys up’ (besides - the fries are better at BK!)
  10. a few carpet shops say if you buy the underlay, they'll fit for free
  11. I know someone who was about to get paid out on a written off car. Asked for MOT he had to admit it wasn't current. 2 more years of a 3 year £2.5k loan to pay off and no payout.
  12. several times I've come across rabbits, obviously in the latter throes of 'Mixxy'. I've always thought it kinder to put them out of their misery, and have obliged.
  13. We've got a Contract Engineer at our works, near the Ski Village. He's commuting from Manchester, but has a motorhome and would like to base himself round Sheffield for a couple of nights a week. Anyone know of any campsites?
  14. May be old news to those interested, but a new concrete skate park was opened in MALTBY a couple of week ago. The initial surge in interest seems to have died back, so could be a good place to try out
  15. Where else would such a facility be better sited? After all the residents of Dinnington only have a half-life also...
  16. Looking for a name, Looking for a guitarist, Looking for a drummer..... What about "The Searchers" I'll get mi coat......
  17. Got 2 helmets. Normal bike type with a peak and a sixsixone 'Mullet'. Can't say either adversely affect vision or mobility. Infact if raining I'd rather be wearing the peaked one as it keeps the rain out of my eyes. I'm not saying it should be obligatory, but the pros outweigh the cons
  18. Its obvious that this plant does infact pose a danger to the local population. Infact mutations have already been attributed to it. Just look at the original post. People in Dinnington have learnt to read!!
  19. Don’t know about the “B” or the “M”, but usually holds the most “W”s
  20. Don't like any guns. But at least a shotgun is likely to kill something outright. How many times were these birds shot to kill them. It says some were decapitated? (although it doesnt say by pellets)
  21. Little sods, big sods From what I read, the ones caught 'misbehaving' with air rifles tend to be kids or teenagers
  22. Got to agree with Mark B. I'd call the cops and by the time they arrived the little sods would be swimming
  23. You have gross unladen weight, you also have total weight. Maximum weights apply. Tests for new vehicles include things such as 'tilt tests' where you weigh unladen. then you use weight to simulate passengers and luggage and weigh it again. You then take it to a test pit, where the vehicle is leant over to 37(?) degrees. All 4 wheels have to stay in contact with the ground. This is a test that has to be passed by the regulating government body before a bus/coach can go into production So yes weights are important and will have been stated correctly
