  4. Late 70's used to go there on a Saturday afternoon and marvel at the stuff theyd got! Scrap bikes we'd only read about or seen pictures of! Shelves full of petrol tanks that you had to crawl over 'dead' bikes to get to. We used to buy 'tank badges' and triplex chains and make belts.. Bought a bantam d7 track bike once (£25ish) stil got tank!t

  11. you could try asking at a shop that sells snakes & reptiles etc. They tend to use t5 tubes.. Might be of help

  14. R.E. Johnny (carnaby) Britton.. Would this be the same bloke that had a motorbike shop and was involved with "Hells Angels South Yorks" in mid to late '70s? I can remember them in "The Nelson" passing round the "beer money" collection tin! Just another gang of bullies?

  17. I can remember watching an organised scramble in Housteads woods/fields behind Pipworth school - side of the parkway sometime round '78

As a kid in my early teens round about '74 onwards me & my mates would spend alot of our spare time touring the many motorbike & related spares shops ( i know, i know) dreaming and drooling at the machines we would one day be riding. We'd go to places like Smiths(spittal hill), Bentleys(abbeydale rd), Grays(west st) and even go outa town to Charlie Freemans(eckington) or Pollards(dinnington) could name plenty others, all gone now though.. Well it was a hobby ... Anyone else?.. Discuss... And did you realise your dream, what bike did you get/now got?

  21. still got a 'single' (remember them?) by Fixer.. I think it was 'Bright & Rosey' on the Rainbow label... I remember a band called Avalanche playin 'Wap' - a bit AC/DC and the drummer got naked!
