Waltheof   10 #192 Posted November 18, 2007 Yes, this topic was done before, but I can still say that I chose my name from the most famous Anglo-Saxon thane who was the lord of the Manor of Hallam at the time of the Norman Conquest. I was actually surprised that the name hadn't already been taken, as it seemed pretty obvious to me. He made an accommodation with the Conqueror but later rebelled against him and so got topped (the only Anglo-Saxon noble to be executed).  He does have a school named after him too...
