No. Sites crashing due to customers trying to submit manual readings. Smart meters will have been working as they have been. Despite Martin Lewis' reasonable advice, there is no guarantee that submitting a current reading will ensure a bill lower than the providers' estimated bill. If you know how to do the calculations, keep a photo of your meter reading and only use it if necessary after they bill you. BG and e-on systems allow you to give the date when the reading was taken. i.e. you can take a reading today and submit it on Sunday when everything has quietened down. I gather that. What I'm saying is by having a smart meter you should not need to do a manual reading at all. Maybe this shows up just how many don't or will not have them like me. Padders 2,881 #34 Posted April 4, 2022 Just received my energy bill, now recovering from the shock(no pun intended) I always keep 7 radiators on upstairs, cus I always think it stops the rooms getting damp.. Actually I don't need them on, my electric blanket will suffice in my bedroom. Would this tactic drastically reduce my £803 bill. I'm thinking of going on the streets, the only people who are not affected by this cost of living crisis is the Beggars. No bills, the odd sarnie, a cuppa and an occasional coin or two.. And they know how to wrap up warm.
 Share this content via...
