Well, ... I believe the first of your three assertions.

Tell me whenever I have lied and you can have some kudos

Oh, relax: jury's out on the other two. C'mon 1/ 3 ain't bad except of course the 1 was being a Tory.

Voters in Old Bexley and Sidcup are going to the polls in a by-election to elect a new MP.

Who is standing?

Listed alphabetically, the following 11 candidates are standing for election:

  • Elaine Frances Cheeseman, English Democrats
  • Daniel Francis, Labour Party
  • Louie Thomas French, Conservative Party
  • Richard Hewison, Rejoin EU
  • David Michael Kurten, Heritage Party
  • John Edmund Poynton, UK Independence Party
  • Simone Reynolds, Liberal Democrats
  • Jonathan Scot Rooks, Green Party
  • Richard James Sunley Tice, Reform UK
  • Carol Margaret Valinejad, Christian Peoples Alliance
  • Mad Mike Young, Official Monster Raving Loony Party

With all those candidates, Labour are unlikely to gain enough votes to be good enough for the media, but the Tories are likely to suffer, we all know that.

Doesn't the diverse nature of those many parties demonstrate a lot of general disatisfaction in the country..../

It demonstates that the £500 deposit is no longer a large enough deposit. Ten minutes of fame as a PPC for £500

The elections watchdog does not agree.

There is a lot of disatisfaction, but our voting system means that protest votes are wasted.

Protest votes happen mainly in by elections.  In a general election people mainly vote for the party they support.  However, you do get anti Tory types who will choose the party most likely to  prevent the Tories winning the seat.

Anti Tory types are the majority of the electorate.

Nonsense.  Voting for an alternative party  to  the Tories doesn't  automatically make a voter an anti Tory type.

It is simple mathematics.

Roughly 30% of the electorate are pro Tory enough to bother to vote for them.

Unite the Union has now stated it will cut  political funding to the Labour Party, wow, Starmer is doing a great job at killing the party.

Quote

Graham said that while Unite would still pay £1m in affiliation fees to Labour, “there’s a lot of other money that we use from our political fund where, actually, I’m not sure we’re getting the best value for it”.

Ironically that's just what my missus said about her union subs after a three year wages battle when she changed jobs.

Unison couldn't be bothered to fight her case - excuses about ill or missing reps, and their suggestion was to just accept the employer's side of things and take the salary hit.

She didn't, she fought it herself with a lawyer friend, and has just got a massive payout.

Unison couldn't even help out their own rep here:

Unions have been at odds with Labour for years, losing their affiliation only strengthens my support for Labour.  Especially when the other union is just taking the p.

Yet they still absolutely smashed their nearest rivals in the last election. What does that say about the Labour Party?

Blah blah largest membership numbers in europe...

...blah blah best party to represent the real ordinary man in the street, salt of the earth working folk blah blah...

Serial losers who clearly do not have anywhere near the electorate support they deludedly think they have.  Even changing the entire voting system wouldn't guarantee they will get into power.

Said before, and will say again, this country is far more conservative if not right-leaning than people would ever like to admit to. The results speak for themselves time and time again.

Left wingers lose.

And aren't we paying the price for it. Worst Conservative government in history, and the bar wasn't high...
