I don't care a jot what he earns - he could earn £1 million a year and depending what he did with it I would think he could still rightly call himself a socialist. The Labour manifesto defines anyone who earns over £80,000 as wealthy. Corbyn earns £138,000 and doesn't consider himself as wealthy. I was pointing out the seeming hypocrisy in that. mossdog Posted May 16, 2017 Share Posted May 16, 2017 well, thanks for making a pointless statement erm..what did he deny? he said he didnt think he was wealthy because of where he puts his money (or something to that effect), perhaps he gives a some to charity, just because he gets paid a lot, it doesnt mean he has a lot ---------- Post added 16-05-2017 at 20:54 ---------- i'll ask again....do you think Corbyn would wish to be more wealthy? .......not at the moment,it would not sit well with his followers! but when he is through with his current stage he might find all sorts of reasons to earn more wealth like ex president Obama is doing, earning millions on the speaking circuits of America.What he does with his wealth is up to him,he might like to set up charitable trusts like the Gates family in America and other many wealth earners!.......he could do all sorts of things that bring benefits to the populace that fortunate wealthy people are doing regardless of the political spectrum that divides people!........Socialism does not have a franchise on Charity or generosity as some people would have you believe!
