How long until Cannabis is legal in the UK?

Recommended Posts

Somewhere between 2 and 5 years I reckon.

People like Mecky will never change their opinion, but they are a minority

That seems somewhat optimistic, my guess would be between 5-10

Smackrats like who? What makes you think that heroin addicts are posting on this thread?

Just spouting the same old tired right wing rhetoric eh. Try to have a think about the issue instead of just spewing bile.

Save smokers suffering from COPD and other tobacco related illnesses.

Who says it's a) your responsibility, b) your right, to save them. They're adults right?

Are there only right wing people against legalisation? Mecky will be surprised :)

In an answer to the thread's title..

Never hopefully

To all of you who think it will EVER be legalised, imagine this in your drug induced stupor ... Which party is ever going to get into power with the legalisation of cannibis included in their manifesto, it would be political suicide. It'll never happen, it can't be allowed too. We have enough nutters roaming our streets without encouraging even more smackrats to join them

Political suicide because the minority of people like you, Mecky and Penistone will vote against it. Oh nose.

It's an authoritarian response, so right wing by definition.

I suppose it depends on how you define your axes, socialism/capitalism or liberal/authoritarian. Most socialists are at least as authoritarian as capitalist, and you can have liberal capitalist (democrats I think they're called).

Soon hopefully and we can stop wasting tax payers money trying to police it, which doesn't work.

We don't, that is just one of the polices' duties

Not if we say it's not.

No, that's how the law works. We (the country) change it, and that it's, it's changed.

Weird, the way I see it it has certainly brought the cupboard conservatives (those that live in cupboards and close the door from real life) out of the woodwork.

But hey, don't let that prevent you from throwing around pathetic insults because people disagree with you. :help:

Can always tell the uneducated ones that try to put cannabis users in the same class as hard drug users like heroin and cocaine lol. What they don't even realise is that half the top end of society smokes the stuff. Such as half the professors at the university plus doctors and surgeons. There is no medical evidence to date that cannabis is harmful. But the health benefits have definitely have been proven. So come on please and get educated on the subject. And yes before anyone asks I do work at the university and I am well aware of all the studies on the subject.

Sorry, but which University do you work at? Because I work at two and have never encountered a professor that smokes pot.

Sweeping generalisations either side of the fence just demonstrate how little people actually understand about this topic.

Why do you think that?

Simply from those I speak to.

That's not really a good enough answer. I could easily counteract your reply with something equally useless.

I look forward to being able to get some pre-skunk weed (African bush, Thaiweed, etc). All I can get is super charged skunk, which is great, but a lot of the time i'd prefer a beer instead of a spirit...

Yes really!

I didn't have you down as a cannabis user lines?!? I'm shocked, but also pleased. Just goes to show that you can't judge a book be it's cover.

Oh yes it is !

Women and voting, being gay, just 2 examples of laws that changed due to people power. I, and cannabis being illegal, in some states in the US.

Statistically speaking you probably have, it's just they aren't likely to advertise the fact. Not good for the career.
