I knew Mozaz, to chat to, for many years, originally through meeting him at anti-war protests, then running in to him in every conceivable location around the city. He had a strong view about everything - whether it was national politics or the merits of a roller disco - and was passionate about expressing them. Most of the time, he specialised in trying to wind people up, and I remember him spotting me in a cafe and coming in specifically to complain that I was reading (their free copy of) the Times! Even when I last saw him, a couple of months ago, he turned ordering a sandwich into all but a full-blown argument! Yet he could also be caring, with a kind word for people when they needed it, and was sometimes very witty.

Mozaz was one of the characters who made the city a richer place, and it'll be a quieter life without him around. It's great to hear that some of his close friends were with him at the end, and that there are plans to mark his life as he wished.

Please bear in mind that Mozaz's friends and family are reading this thread. Please can we keep it for tributes? If you didn't like him, this is not the place to tell us why not.

Thank you for your understanding.

Mozaz was often unable to work and on benefits, but one of the last times I saw him we was very proud to tell me that he was off benefits & earning a good living working on video shoots. He was proud & beaming as he bought me a pint that he'd paid for with money he'd managed to earn.

Sad to hear this news. I knew Mozaz from various benefits/ community actions/ demos and thought he. was a great guy.

I knew of mozaz (always thought of him as moses as never saw it written) from campaigning to stop the war. I once had a really long argument with him at a meeting upstairs in the rutland pub. Once the meeting finished we came downstairs and had a pint and shared some crisps like nothing had happened. After that I used to see him around town a lot.

For everyone that knew him I'm sorry for your loss. Weird how without sheffield forum I would not have known of his death.
