It seems that the First South Yorkshire and Travel South Yorkshire websites have both updated their details to provide the list of Rotherham services into Sheffield as posted on here - http://www.sy-transport.co.uk/news_item_34.htm

Good news if you ask me and like AndyC has posted above, Travel South Yorkshire have gone that one step further to create the lists of possible alternatives in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster.

It would be nice that when First go on strike that Stagecoach run later into the night on these days as where I live I am only on the 83 route so am stranded after 7pm! Any chance that someone can have a word with the powers that be and ask them this?

From FirstGroup website

All South Yorkshire Strikes on First Buses Suspended

Following discussions between First South Yorkshire and the Unite Union today (Friday 9 October), strike action, planned on First buses in South Yorkshire on the next three Mondays 12, 19 and 26 October, has been suspended.

The suspension of strike action in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster means that First buses will now be running normally on Monday (12th October) and on subsequent Mondays.

The news follows on from yesterdays industrial action resolution when Unite suspended planned strikes on First buses in Sheffield on Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October after a compromise offer on disciplinary issues.

In todays negotiations, First has offered the following pay deal " which the Union has strongly recommended its members to accept to resolve all the South Yorkshire industrial relations disputes. This includes:

1) To settle the outstanding accrued holiday issue at full rate (£9.13) this year in a lump-sum payment in December

2) A pay increase of 2.5% in April 2010

3) A one-off additional holiday in 2010/11 (as initially requested)

4) Additional subsidies for staff canteens in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster

Bob Hamilton, Managing Director of First South Yorkshire said, "I am happy that we have been able to negotiate with the Union and reach a compromise that is acceptable to both parties, pending ratification by local Union members.

"First South Yorkshire cannot afford a pay rise this year but has worked hard to deliver a good 2-year offer that means our passengers will avoid being inconvenienced by strike action on First buses. This package helps protect the business and our staff during these tough economic conditions.

"I am especially pleased that, during tough economic times, we have managed to prevent strikes that would have had major implications for a number of local businesses.'

This seems to have hit the press this morning on at least 3 sites, First South Yorkshire, South Yorkshire Transport and The Star.

Articles below,

First South Yorkshire - http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/yorkhumber/southyorkshire/service_disruptions/?item=6011&show=1

South Yorkshire Transport - http://www.sy-transport.co.uk/news_item_37.htm

The Star - http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/Bus-strikes-could-be-back.5735968.jp

The drivers have rejected the offer that was put to them the other day. "Out of 1,300 drivers eligible to vote, 379 accepted the offer, 514 rejected it and one ballot paper was discounted because it was spoiled. This accounts for 42% of the drivers agreed with the strike."

514 into 1300 equals 39.5%, not 42%.

Where is the figure of 42% coming from, or am I being thick today?
