  1. Yes we have seen this RSPCA Charity Shop and I am trying to talk her into it even though she is specifically trying to get animal based volunteering. I am also trying to get her to do a Diploma in Animal Care. She wouldn't require support to be honest, it's just a lack of confidence issue which if she wanted we can come along for her first couple of visits with her until she feels comfortable. We would be willing to support her and the organisation in any way. Thank you for your reply.
  2. If you're on about the thread I think then I'm really quite appalled by the decision to close the thread. I can see where the mod's are coming from because it may have escalated but argumentative comments should have just been removed. Pretty sad that such a good thread was closed.
  3. If I didn't find you highly amusing and your lack of knowledge on this subject below average then I would find that comment offensive. I know exactly why I'm joining the Army and I will do as I am told to do. Whether that be in war or out of war. You simply don't know the difference between the Taliban and the normal civilians in Afghanistan, do you? You're a troll and a very funny one at that.
  4. That's great thanks. I will call around some of those places this afternoon. If anybody knows of anything around the Hillsborough area that'd be great as well.
  5. Thank you for your response. It's for a client at work. We have already referred a client to the Rainrescue charity shop, it'd just be a little far for this client to travel. She is wanting mostly hands on with the animals.
  6. I am asking on the behalf of somebody else for volunteering in the animal care sector preferably Hillsborough/City Centre. If anybody could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  7. Yep, you got me. I'm joining the Army because I'm sick and twisted. Why else would I join? Surely that's the only reason!
  8. I think you should maybe have a little think about what you just said there.
  9. You're a complete tool. I don't come from a poor background or a council house and I am in fact joining the Army. I am very well educated and by the looks of your spelling and grammar, a lot more highly educated than you. The wages aren't high either compared to what you sacrifice. I've had to think long and hard about the sacrifices I will be making in my life to join the Army and have come to the conclusion it'll be worth it in the long run. Also I'm not a psychopath . Please have some respect for our soldiers and also the heroes(both past and present).
  10. Eat healthy, exercise more and motivation are the key factors to weight loss. Analyse EVERYTHING that you eat on a daily basis for a week. Make a diary of this and at the end of the week look back at your food intake - you will be consuming more calories than you need. Cut out all of the crap you don't need. Exercise every day for a minimum for 20 minutes - either in a morning before work or after work. Motivation - don't give up. If you put in what you always put in then you'll get out exactly what you always get out. YOU are the key to weight loss, no fad diets - these diets/pills are ok for a quick fix but as soon as you stop then you'll pile the weight back on. I am currently losing 1lb a week for my Military training and that's a steady and a healthy amount of weight to be losing.
  11. Anyone do micro loop hair extension fitting? PM me with prices of 12inch and a 18inch full head fitted. Will provide own hair.
  12. The hedgehog is under half the body weight that it should realistically be and you're saying to put it back? That's absolutely crazy. It won't ''fatten'' itself up and is probably on a downwards spiral right now, the only outcome for this little mite is death unfortunately if you release him back into the wild. He needs specialist help as soon as possible.
  13. I've got a man in uniform whos arm I might be able to twist - camouflage and combat boots It depends on dates of the event as to whether he will be home or not.
  14. I highly recommend Anne as well. We got our little Blossom from her and she couldn't be more perfect. She was very well handled and we've been able to handle her without any bites or nips since the moment we got her home. I wouldn't go anywhere else for another little one now.
  15. I think the problem here is lack of manners. I mean how hard is it to just put please? If I had spare things then I wouldn't mind giving them away, but I would give them away to somebody with manners. If he can't say please on here then who's to say he would be grateful if he came to collect them(and don't say of course he would be because there really are some rude people out there). Anyway please is a 6 letter word and takes a second to type in future Carpetviper, use it and you will have a better response.
  16. One of mine does it quite often! It does un-freeze itself but it can take a while. It's easier to take the battery out and replace it.
  17. I work 9am-5pm Mon-Thurs with an hour paid lunch. Then Friday half a day with half an hour lunch. No weekends
  18. Yes a landline caller can withheld their number. It'll just say something like ''This persons number is not available''.
  19. How old are you? Are you currently signing on at the moment? There is a problem with doing an IT apprenticeship if you already hold a level higher than the one you'd be achieving on your apprenticeship. You would be aiming for a level 4 which I'm not sure exists without looking further into it. I know level 2 and 3 does but you already have equivalent to those. You wouldn't be eligible to do a level lower than you already have. I don't know if you're registered with this website but it's a really good website for apprenticeships if you wanted to go into a different sector and it's useful for information regarding apprenticeships. http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/
  20. I go to Body Pump at Ponds Forge. It's on tonight at 7:10pm-8.10pm! It's a really good class.
  21. First of all your weight isn't really a problem, your BMI is what it should be. But if you really want to lose weight then you need to cut out all of the cr*p food and stop snacking on cheese and sweets. Instead have a piece of fruit, surprisingly you'll start to enjoy it. Depending on which gym you use you could do with a fitness plan. Talk to the instructor about what you want exactly and they will do a plan to suit you and the time you have to spend in the gym. I use Fitness Unlimited and use a key with my plan on it, so I know exactly what I've done that day. Use smaller plates for your meals and cut your food into smaller pieces. This sounds stupid but also chew your food for longer because the body believes it's getting more food, your jaw will start to get tired. Drink plenty of water. Cider = full of sugar. You would be very surprised at how much it contains. I did all the above and have lost 2 dress sizes now. You just need the motivation to do it. Also have a look at slimming world meals, they have a good choice of healthier alternatives. There are also healthier snacks available if a piece of fruit doesn't satisfy you. Good luck!
  22. He's the guy who looks after everything in the Metis building. A bit like a care taker... He's always walking around. Have a word with him.
  23. Sadly my hamster Houdini passed away a couple of days ago due to being very ill and old. I am thinking about getting either a pair of fancy rats or a pair of gerbils as my next little furries. I haven't owned a rat before and I've only come into contact with them while studying a Diploma in Animal Care - let's just say they enjoyed eating fingers. I have however had a single gerbil around 7 years ago so I know how to look after those. I currently have this cage http://www.petsathome.com/shop/gerbilarium-by-pets-at-home-15962 if I was to get a pair of gerbils. Would this be suitable to accommodate 2 happily? Obviously for a pair of rats I would need a larger cage. What size cage would I need? Obviously the bigger the better but I don't want anything really big. The question is which make more entertaining pets, rats or gerbils? Also the difference in care for both of them. I am leaning more towards fancy rats at the moment as it's a new adventure in the world of furries. Also are there any breeders on here? It would be great to meet some fancy rats before committing myself to them. I would be looking at getting them towards the end of June when my partner leaves the Army and things are settled and it gives me time to research more into them. So it's not a big rush to get them.
  24. I don't quite understand how we can be losers when WE ARE GOING UP. The prize was automatic promotion - we won it along with Charlton. Come on Blades are you seriously going to be that sour and continue clutching onto excuses? It's over and done with you didn't get automatic promotion - deal with it. Maybe just maybe you'll see us in the Championship next season. I do hope not as it would be quite entertaining to keep you in League One for another season or 2. Great turn out last night from the owls.
  25. Let them suffer in League One or another year or 2(that would be more of a laugh). I really do think they will struggle in the play offs though. It's an interesting day back at work after the 3 day promotion celebrations. My Wednesday cup is chipped......hmmm I wonder what happened there.
