i love nether edge! always lived close by and lived on sheldon road for about 8 months a couple of years ago. great shops, pops mini market, zeds, sainsburys alongside some good gift shops, cafes, hairdressers, pubs (try the broadfield) and the like!! nice atmosphere and people. the sheldon rd area looks a bit shabby tho tbh

get of the bus from town at the old abbeydale cinema. walk back towards town about 30 paces, cross the road, you have reached your destination ---------- Post added 19-03-2013 at 15:22 ---------- you can then also walk into our shop and browse the vast collection of books on military history!! -

We have a shop nearby and im not sure if locking the door on folk without advertising the fact was the best idea in the world! it left a lot of customers confused! That said it was their big opening and they had the bishop and TV cameras to attend to! It probably would have been a nightmare for them to deal with if the shop was also full of customers.

my Dad was the younger son, born 1939 so might not have worked there 'til the late 50's. He failed his 11+ and went to hunters bar My uncle Keneth (john keneth smith) may have gone to De la salle though, he was the eldest son. Yes, during my dads childhood they lived in Norton, but moved at some point to bents green. -

Thanks for the kind words Mr? Tup, as far as i was told, he fell into the coal fire at about 4 or 5 years old, he used to tell me horror stories about having to be treated in RAF type hospitals, full of WW2 soldiers, who had been badly burnt ..........he never let him hold himself back though!! ---------- Post added 02-03-2013 at 22:46 ---------- back in the day when a broker was a broker!
