Do you know how torrents work? BT Broadband is fine for me with downloading torrents as long as there is enough seeders and not too many leechers. Edit- if you want reliable download speeds your better of using a usenet service like giganews or the like. Does not cost much and will always use the full speed of your internet connection.

Yes Linux is vulnerable to viruses nobody on here said otherwise. And not all viruses/trojans get picked up by virus scanners I could make some right now with Backtrack 4 that would not get picked up by most virus scanners takes a matter of seconds. There is nothing wrong with using Linux nor is there anything wrong with using Windows each to there own. I use both windows and linux and why should the OP just install windows for office when as someone pointed out there is a free version for linux

You could try running it with WINE its a windows emulator for linux not sure if it will work or not just a thought
