  1. My daughter is going there next week, so thanks for the thread BasilRathbon and for the info Yog Sothoth.
  2. I was going to write "unbelievable", but sadly it is very believable these days.
  3. Thanks Lostrider, my OH comes from Dinnington and used to work in the pit there. I can't wait to show them him when he comes in.
  4. There hasn't been a man doing the quiz on a Wednesday night for more than 2 years:suspect:
  5. As I looked out of my front door this afternoon, there were a couple from across the street, one of thems brother and wife, and a next door neighbour stood their chatting. My daughter and myself joined in , as did the couple from across the streets grandchildren. It was lovely and peaceful, as in no cars razzing up and down and I thought what A friendly place to be. Just so you know I live in S5
  6. Spot on about it not just being swimming, Gogetter. An event that comes to mind is the Under the Stars nightclub for disabled people, but surely if disabled people want to go to a night club then there are lots to choose from and they should be able to use them without discrimination. I am not knocking these events I think they are a great idea, but there are those that don't want to be segregated and they shouldn't have to be.
  7. As PT (I think) said earlier, there are disabled swimming groups in Sheffield, which I think is a very good idea for those that want to use them, but, it is my opinion that if you want to use a pool at any time without it just being disabled swimmers then you should be able to, without facing discrimination.
  8. Can you imagine all of the Forummers gathering at the pool to cheer Peak Polly on?:hihi: I think it's a great idea:thumbsup:
  9. No you wouldn't offend me and I am also stunned at your post. Unfortunately some people are just ignorant to other peoples situations and feelings. Don't let these people stop you doing what you want.
  10. I hope my CCTV gets a good picture of them, if they try to get mine. Thanks for the info panda:thumbsup:
  11. I'm a Sheffield lass, born and bred and still here:thumbsup:
  12. I'm sorry that I can't really remember, but I think it depends on how long you want the plaque to be in place for. I seem to think it is around £500.00 for 5 years but I am probably wrong and I am talking about a few years ago. I'm sure someone else on here will have more up to date figures for you.
  13. Write left handed but use my right for everything else.
  14. I remember Speights, Elvins and Higginbottoms. I went to Hucklow Road school, then to Hindehouse. I left the area in 1976.
  15. That is so emotional Merlina. I cried when I saw the news tonight and all the Liverpool fans were singing You'll Never Walk Alone.
