  3. It is not a choice that people should have to make. It is like the old joke about whould you rather be shot or hung. Neither. I thought I hade made it clear that I neither condone drugs or drunkenness, and anyway the claim that people on drugs are not violent or unpredictable is rather dubious to me.

  10. The thing is most people like the idea of the unemployed being given a hard time. It does not acheive anything positive or save any money but 'taxpayers' like it.
