  1. Left sided player Jeremy Helan has moved to Wolves on loan for the remainder of the season. Signed for us in the Jones era (I think) and whilst he has some skill and looked a raw talent he is the type of player who can run at the oppositions defence and beat them but not provide the end product of an assist or goal in most cases, down the pecking order behind Pudil and Bennett and could be one to leave in the summer.
  2. What makes you say that mate, I've never had any problems with them.
  3. Two underwhelming games in a matter of days but we got a point, Hull will be very tough as they have a great home record and are defensively strong, if we get nothing from it then it probably rules out any chance of an automatic spot, Derby and 'Boro have had tough times lately but are still in there so nothing to worry about.
  4. Two points dropped tonight but still moved up a place, seem to having a lot of the ball but not creating enough scoring opportunitys, need to rectify this quickly as the teams below are coming up on the rails, not concerned yet though as I think we've enough in the tank.
  5. Do you think that team was better than the early 90's team Alan?
  6. I have followed the Owls since 1978 and have never once felt we have been overshadowed by a united team that have either gained success by playing the crude long ball game with managers who got the best out of average players (Bassett, Warnock) or been mediocre, hardly shadow casting. The double header promotion/relegation in 89/90 hurt but we came back stronger than ever following it so it was soon forgotten.
  7. Trash - 6/10 - Decent reviews, well made but I didn't really enjoy it. Stonehearst Asylum - 6/10 - Decent reviews, well made but I didn't really enjoy it. Ho hum.
  8. QPR have some good players but do not seem to gel as team, Matt Phillips is Prem standard and can be a match winner, they won't relish a visit to S6 on a cold Tuesday and our home form should pull us through. 2-1
  9. Been out for a few hours, jesus. Like I said earlier all Mr McCabe has done is reiterate things that we already knew, he claims his family have invested £90m if thats true and I don't deny that it is then its been invested very poorly indeed. He also stated in the interview that the only players that had been allowed to leave the club were the ones who wanted to to go to better themselves, its funny how most of these occurances were just as the players were making a name for themselves and in some cases uniteds top scorer at the time (Beattie, Blackman etc) too much of a coincidence for me but I suppose now mccabes said thats not the case on live radio it must be true Oh well it looks like the shoes off protest is on hold for another few weeks. :hihi:
  10. He also said you had a "game changing" investment in 2013, pinch of salt needed.
  11. He did make a statement but did it tell you anything you didn't already know.
  12. It's difficult to ignore them as they take up about a third of all threads he takes part in, making a point with moribund repetition and shying away from backing it up spoils threads rather than adds to them. For the record we have not stated that being above United as success but merely that we are in a division higher and moving forward, success is when you actually achieve something. Back to topic it appears that most united fans who were up in arms yesterday are now happy again because the chairman came on the radio and spent 15mins justifying a poor season.
  13. Not at all, I still went to games it just wasn't that good to watch at times, the two L1 promotion seasons were great, we were just too underfunded to compete, at least we had a height to fall from, United were obviously see being the slightly better of two poor Sheffield teams as some measure of success, tragic. ---------- Post added 21-02-2016 at 09:28 ---------- Sorry Webby but if Jon stop putting tiresome baiting comments that he can't back up into virtually every post he might get better replies.
  14. Why wouldn't I admit it, its true and was the case until we got an owner who could take us forward, perhaps thats what united need.
  15. So you blades see being a few places above a skint and badly managed Owls as "success" :hihi: it must be worse at the lane than I thought. As for interviewing managers the key word there is "past".
  16. More successful - what success did you have, I don't recall any?
  17. You didn't do a great deal prior to those 5-6yrs either.
  18. The main difference is we didn't have any money but after plummeting we steadied the ship and made progress, you are still going backwards despite the money, bad leadership.
  19. I'm surprised he admitted what has been invested, over £100m to turn a team into League 1 also rans, I'd have kept it quiet.
  20. Enough of that nonsense and onto the game, the more I've looked at the stats this week the more concerned I was at how we would do, PNE are in great form at home and beat Hull back in December, we announced the first unchanged lineup of the season and I thought we'd have enough in the tank for a win, we started brightly with some great passing and movement but Preston were having the better chances on the break particularly down the right where Jack Hunt had a torrid time, half time and Westy had had plenty to do, we never seemed to get going in the 2nd and the red card made a difficult job even harder, not sure on the first yellow but the handball was silly. PNE scored soon after with a good cross and header and apart from a great move from which Hopper created a chance for Joao which was stopped by a great defensive tackle the game petered out. Not a total disaster and another game on Tuesday to make amends.
  21. That seems a big ask at the moment mate and if as people say the players dont look interested its virtually impossible.
  22. Man Up - 6/10 - A rom-com (not normally my thing) but this ones quite watchable and funny in places, one OTT character almost derails it though.
  23. At the moment your 9th best unfortunately.
