  1. If you look on http://www.stallfinder.com you may find something but cheap tables at fayres are usually school type affairs and people aren't big spenders at them so they may not be suitable for you. It depends entirely on the range of prices you were thinking of asking for your goods. Also it depends on how far you want to travel. For example there are more fairs etc in the Bakewell area than Sheffield at the moment. Good luck with your venture.
  2. Crafty Crafters meet every two weeks on a Friday evening at the Stradbroke Community Association Building. Not strictly a crochet group but most of us do it. Friendly atmosphere where you bring a project and have a natter.
  3. It's about the going rate for these events. Could be worse, I've seen them at £60 for a day on an outside stall.
  4. Unfortunately people at a carboot won't pay for handmade goods, wrong market.
  5. The craft fairs aren't run by the people at Elsecar Heritage Centre and at the end of last year there was some debate by the organisers about packing it in. I haven't heard anything from them since. The stalls were over £50 for the weekend so you had to get alot of sales, or one big one, to cover your costs and although the last few were busy for visitors they didn't want to part with their money. Mind you that seems to be happening pretty much everywhere at the moment.

  7. Would have loved to join you but can't afford the few hundred quid for the gazebo.
  8. American and english patterns use the same stitches and call them different names. American single crochet = english double crochet american double crochet = english treble american treble = english triple etc. There are plenty of conversion charts on google.
  9. I know Katie and the talks she does are very interesting. Shame I can't make it.
  10. Have you thought about selling online on something like etsy of folksy?
  11. That reminds me I have a box of items to send off to them.
  12. I've knitted and crocheted them and got bored of them pretty quickly since they all seemed to be very similar designs. Some of them can be fun though when it comes to the detailing.
  13. It's still ongoing but in its infancy, last I heard the search was on for venues and licenses from councils etc.
  14. No idea but smoke and water damage means they'll have to completely re-stock, not to mention dealing with shop fitters and insurance people. If I see anything though I'll post it on here.
  15. You could try http://www.stallfinder.co.uk but most places I know of would be fully booked for this weekend. Can always try though.
  16. Should work, try making a tension piece first though.
  17. What glue should I use to stick cork to glass?
  18. If I can find a suitable pattern I should be able to make some for you. Or if you find the pattern. I knit and crochet so not bothered which I do. Cheers Nadine
  19. I may regret asking but why do you want just their heads?
  20. I've bought fleece blankets from Primark for making toys and hats. Worked out alot cheaper than buying fleece by the metre at the time.
  21. Easy done! I always find Grace's fabrics in Castle Market very good.
