  1. I've seen both advertised on there so I think the only thing they ask is that it is your own work and you clearly state if its an original or print.
  2. I have a little online shop on http://www.etsy.com. They charge 20c, about 11p, per listing and it lasts for 4 months or until you sell it. Everything is easy to follow, it must be for me to figure out, and you can list everything in £ and it converts everything. I have had sales from all over the world and its all sorted itself out.
  3. The people at Kelham Island may be able to help as they have small steam vehicles at events. They could at the very least point you in the right direction.
  4. I've seen them at Hobbycraft and Cole Brothers I think.
  5. Officially you have to be registered with the taxman to do that and selling stuff isn't without its costs. Unfortunately.
  6. The prem baby units at Jessops and Rotherham are always after blankets, so is the cats shelter.
  7. I got in touch with my local tax office and they sorted me out. You just have to keep on top of the paperwork! If you think I may be able to help send me a PM.
  8. I shall pass your details on to the groups I know of.
  9. Depends what you are looking for. There are several medieval groups who all cover different bits of medieval since it is a 300 year time frame. Sealed Knot for civil war period and quite a few for WWII both military and civilian.
  10. I would find £40 on the high side for a one day fair especially since it would cost alot to park the car up for the day in Sheffield as well.
  11. It's public liability insurance they're after, I get mine from CMTIA and its £45 for 12 months. No limitations on the number of fairs you can attend during the year. Also if you are selling anywhere you are suposed to tell the tax man, just something else to bear in mind.
  12. There are good instructions on youtube and you get to see the instuctions not just diagrams and photos in books.
  13. I've seen a couple of books for making outfits for teddy's. Have you tried searching for teddy bear outfits rather than animal outfits?
  14. We haven't got anything in Rotherham because the council won't give a license for a craft fair within 7 miles of the market. ---------- Post added 29-01-2013 at 09:37 ---------- Sounds ideal, I'd be interested
  15. Hobbycraft is probably your best bet. I prefer metal needles because I tend to tuck it under my arm as well. If you want someone to show you how to knit then the Crafty Crafters meet at the Stradbroke Community buildings every two weeks. Most of our member are from Handsworth since that is where the group started many moons ago.
  16. I would suggest a table cloth that is large enough to cover the table and three sides almost to the ground. This looks very neat and is a handy way to cover up boxes and all the other general bits you have hidden under the table. Label and price things clearly as alot of people don't like to ask. Make sure you have plenty of change, its amazing how it can disappear sometimes. Hope this helps.
  17. You could look on http://www.stallfinder.com. There are a lot of people who do jewellry so fair organisers sometimes limit the number they have at an event. A couple of years ago it was card makers. Anyway you can search on there by event type and/or distance and they have all the contact details for the event organisers.
  18. The Crafty Crafters meet every two weeks on a Friday evening at Stradbroke Community Association Buildings. Not a knitting group specifically but nearly all our members are experienced knitters and very friendly.
  19. I saw something similar a few years back but never seen a pattern for them.
  20. The Crafty Crafters meet every two weeks on a friday evening at Stradbroke Community Association, 7pm while 9pm. £2 per meeting to cover the rent but first meeting is free. Our next meeting is tomorrow night.
  21. That's cheap for a pitch, the main fair at Kelham costs nearly £50 a day.
  22. I'm in Rotherham and work full time so it would entirely depend on what time and day your meetings would be for. I will certainly keep an eye on how things develop.
  23. I have to agree with what has been said but I'm not brilliant with words and couldn't think how to say it . I haven't the time to build it into something to make my living from and I'm not sure I'd want to either. It can sometimes knock the fun out of what I enjoy if I'm always working to deadlines. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
