  1. I have always used Blackstock Road Tip and the guys there have always been ok with me. Pleasant, helping me out when I may have been struggling.
  2. Chesterfield have had a free public display for a number of years too. I have been twice and it is a really good professional display. They don't do a bonfire but there are a few fairground attractions ect for the kids as well. I sais exactly the same on Monday night when we were coming home from Chesterfield, "Why can't Sheffield do something like this?"
  3. Some people on this forum could do with keeping their opinions to theirselves. At the end of the day someone has had their car stollen and it doesn't really matter what it is or what it looks like as long as it is legal and gets them from A to B is all that matters! The original post was asking for help in finding it not to be pulled down due to the car they drive.
  4. I had an emergency cesaerean with my little boy back in April of this year. I was completely put to sleep with a general anesthetic instead of an epidural with it being an emergency. I had my baby at lunch time was laid up all the rest of the afternoon mainly due to coming round from the anesthetic being sleepy ect not actually from the cesaerean. The staff on the ward at Jessops were really helpful during the night helping me with my baby. The following morning i was up and out of bed in the shower and dressed all before breakfast was served. I was fine throughtout my recovery, just took it easy and took some pain killers to ease the healing pain but nothing that paracetamol couldn't deal with.
  5. Hi, Could anyone suggest any decent groups in and around the S2 area. I live just off East Bank Road so the Heeley and Gleadless areas are both within easy reach. I am not afraid of traveling as i live on the 51 bus route Many thanks
  6. My friends children go to Mundella and she always has postive comments about it.
  7. Try TK Max. When I bought one from there recently they had various styles.
  8. I sent my brother to the walk in centre last weekend as he had the largest bite/blister on his leg. About 1,1/2 inch long & 1 inch wide. We were unsure what is what hence the walk in centre. They told him it was insect bite as they could see the puncture marks! As for the recomendation of the skin so soft by Avon i agree. I have actually used abroad as a moisturiser and a repelent in one and it worked. It does have to be the dry oil spray woodland fresh scent though.
  9. acorn fencing old whittington moor, chesterfield and there concrete post are cheaper then anywhere i look , google it prices on there web site
  10. Does anyone know of any good pram stockist other than the main local ones(Mothercare, John Lewis, Toys r us ect) which sell a good variety of prams and pushchairs. We do not mind traveling a bit of distance. I was thinking of maybe a warehouse or retail outlet but i am open to all suggestions. Many thanks.

  14. I may not be going back as far as you but from what i remember. Starting from the right you had Holmhirst Road, you then the cobblers on the corner, then came the sweetie shop and then what is now Marcos the Italian resturant. The clothes shop now takes up where the sweetie and cobblers shops used to be and Marcos is still there. Before the KFC it used to be the car sales garage, not sure what was there before that though.
  15. I remember this sweetie shop when it was called The Sugar Bowl. It was taken over and became Happy Shopper later on before closing.
  16. When i was young i would go out every year trick or treating with my friends and we would all have turnip/sweede as our lantens. None of us have either a Scotish or Irish backgound.
  17. I can see them from Arbourthorne. They seem to be coming from Graves Park area as they are rising above Norton Lees Golf Club.

  19. Hi There, I do not live in Scotland but my sister does. She moved up there 9 years ago. Her Boyfriend at the time (now husband) bought a small house in a small fishing village called Portsoy on the coast of the Murray Firth. They then moved along to a small town just outside Inverness called Croy. They now have 2 little girls and are really settled even though she would call Inverness home she was born and bred in sheffield and when they come down to see us all in Sheffield she tells her friends that they are going down the road too see the family. I am actually off up there next week to spend some time visiting them, really looking forward to it. i am flying up but i have driven up and rode up on the train in the past and the journey is so picturesque as you head up the A9.
  20. My other half rang the mobilty shop in Crystal Peaks up last Saturday to see if we could hire one of theirs out for my nan whilst we where up there shopping. He was informed that before they hire them out to the public they have to provide training for the user regardless to weather or not they have their own at home. They were unable to rent us one though as there was only one member of staff on shift and he was unable to leave the shop. These scooters wouldn't be so bad if they wasn't so huge!!!! I think they should limit the size of the scooter they allow in places like supermarkets ect to a certain size as when we where in sainsbury's at crystal peaks last week we kept having to move out of the way to allow this woman to pass. Her scooter was nearly as big as a small car and a 4x4 version as well the tryes where huge. It also looked like she had just come from doing some off roading as the whole scooter was covered in mud. There is no need for them to be that big they start to become an invonvienece to all hindering rather than helping the individual who needs them in the first place.
  21. Is your filter working correctly? Maybe because you have increased the number of fish the filters may not be able to cope with the increase in debri the fish are creating.
  22. My other half and myself commented on just the thing the other day when following a first bus. there should not be any excuse not to clean the buses the temps are a lot better than before xmas and surely there has been enough time to replace some type of cleaning appliance if the original had broke due to the frost. They aren't much better on the inside either.
  23. I have been waiting for a parcel to be delivered for over 2 weeks now and was begining to worry slightly as it was a present for xmas. Anyhow today (Sunday) a Royal Mail van pulled up over the road and 2 post men were dashing back and forth with parcels to about 4 houses and then to mine. My parcel had arrived thankfully. They must be paying the staff at Royal Mail to work extra to get any delayed deliveries out due to the weather and all the extra xmas deliveries out on time.
  24. tight lines fishing tackle shop on birley had mine done there they send them of the someone, i broke my 4th section mended no probs
