  1. I thought it was the early 80s, with talk of the Falklands all over the news.

  6. Maybe a silly question and I may get a bit of stick but did anyone feel a bit of a tremor about 5 minutes ago (1:25am).

  10. With my crop I was hoping to allow the viewer to follow the subjects eyes and wonder what has caught her attention, its changed the picture from "I'm bored, I'll play with my Veil". Whats going on over there. Plus it follows the rule of thirds in guiding the viewer eye and directing them across the picture. With the original I think, the thick line of the veil in the background commands the picture and detracts from the subject. Either way it is a nice candid capture.
  11. A story on today's Yahoo News Are we being watched? 'Alien' reaches out through Northern Lights http://uk.news.yahoo.com/alien-aurora-northern-lights-iceland-photograph-iurie-belegurschi-20112012-143119241.html and one I took in April this year. http://www.jskidmore.com/uploads/5/5/4/7/5547282/6686554_orig.jpg
  12. Every nuisence call I get, when they ask a question I always reply sorry cant tell you because of Data Protection Act really throws them cos hey dont have a answer on their screen. . When I get a call from my phone provider that is a sales call they always ask for my address or dob. I always say cant tell you cos I dont know who you are, ive had them pulling their hair out telling me who they are, but theyve rang me so really they could be anyone. Really winds them up, funnily the calls stop after the second or third time.
  13. Bought it for 70k, did the front parking, got offered 90k shortly after, wasnt even up for sale, so had it valued and the estate agent confirmed the off street parking had increased the value. Didnt sell btw still here, houses on the road are worth 120-130k now.
  14. I know its the back garden, my parents house has a back yard which is paved, I cant see the problem other than a classic case of nimbyism.
  15. So what? If the guys wants to he can, people pave or deck their gardens there's no difference, just cos theres no grass or flowers dosn't make it wrong.
  16. I concreted my front garden to park cars on and raised the house price by 20K, not everyone is green fingered and wants a lawn, leave the guy alone and get a hobby.
  17. You really need to get out more!! It’s apparent your a neighbour, whether on the left or right, I would say on the right as the left has new occupants. I would say you've been there since Adam was a lad. Not a type for wanting change, the alterations and building works that have been going on have been a proper nuisance, that fact that someone has the foresight and funds to develop their property is really winding you up. I’m afraid you can only control what happens on your own property, as for noise and light pollution, welcome to the 21st century, it is a fact of life. You never know the ancient woods maybe developed in to a new 24hr Tesco in the near future.
  18. Wheres South Yorkshikre http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/local/evil-south-yorkshikre-rapist-jailed-for-pensioner-rape-1-5087153 Plus "He was arrested for flashing at schoolgirls at a bus stop 18 months ago, but the case was dropped due to lack of evidence". Must have been a cold day?
  19. I walk out the front door and get in to my car, I have my own seat, that is there for me any time I want it, without fear of having to stand or squeeze at the side of a other person of onerous personal hygine. I start the car, select the desired temperature and music genre to suit myself, the ride is smooth and comfortabe, even if there are traffic jams and delays, I have a selection of chewing gum or boiled sweet to hand, plus the option of switching radio station, mp3 or cd. The car takes me A to B to my destination, with any diversion I fancy, plus any stop I deem so fit to stop at. On reaching my destination, I park up and the car will be there on my return, without waiting ages or the sinking feeling of thinking just missed it. There are no timetables with my car and I decide when the last service is and at what time the first service is in the morning. The nearest tramstop to home is a 10 minutes walk up hill, and the nearest stop to work is 25 minute walk away, so unless I move nearer to the stops and gain the rumbling noises and floor shaking associated with living at the side of the tram route, I can say without any shadow of doubt the tram is not for me.
  20. A quick look through google and wearing forebearers medals on the right hand side seems the norm, its a touching act of remebrance, pride and respect.
  21. I use weebly, for a few sites now and find it very good and easy to set up. I used to write my own using dreamweaver, but since discovering weebly I'm converted. Very easy setup and template design, with css style sheets and online forms, blogs, galleries etc.
