  1. Not every bus is like that and it does look like the first company use the worst ones on certain routes. It would not surprise me if some scientist were to take measurements some of them rattle shake around mach 4 or 5 when stationary. When engine running high revs it does get better. Seen one while ago I held my hand still near the seat in front and that seat was hitting my hand tap tap tap tap and the windows were rattling loudly from this motion as well. This shaking is worse when bus is stationary and engine on low revs. Not every bus is same, there are different models from different years and some are maintained better than others. More modern buses switch off the engine wile waiting on low revs.
  2. Your mind lives in a fantasy world of limousines and luxurious taxies and you keep furiously moaning about truthfull accurate comments made by others. No one is demanding anything at all. If I want a better bus I go back to EU or USA but prefer to be here and now and if this means taking a Sheffield bus that's fine with me. I don't mind living in a place where busses rattle like some massage chair.
  3. Short distance or little time? We have a car and some destination can be reached in 5 minutes at legal speed limit but the buses needed to get there take 40 minutes. You do not know what comfort is and have little experience and a blurred vision on this topic
  4. Yes it's a bus indeed just like the rattling ones I've been on in third world countries.
  5. Wow took a 75 down abbeydale RD today and it must be the most intense rattling bus ever been on, worse than an old cheap massage chair.
  6. Best to keep bored kids away from buses. Once seen some shoot stones from back through the upper deck with a slingshot catapult. No point calling police unless you lie intentionally and tell them they have knives. No problem lying our own prime minister does it.
  7. This is exactly why it can look like like a third world country with separated class systems. Have never seen this happen in other developed countries where I have travelled except USA.
  8. Of coarse. A large group of people is waiting for a bus and the bus comes. It is long 2 sections horizontal attached like a tram and has 3 set of wide doors that open. People get out/in quickly using all 3 wide doors while scanning their public transport pass there. The seats are clean comfortable modern and well maintained. The bus pulls up quickly and smoothly without making any noise or rattling or shaking. A large group is waiting for a bus at meadowhall or city centre. The bus comes and the small thin door opens. First people have to all get out. Then people start to push to get in one by one. They can have a long discussion each with the driver about where they go and what sort of ticket to buy and count their change or they have a pass they can scan in front of the driver. It could happen a seat is all patched up but they are usually okay and they are relatively hard and have an old fashioned feel to them. The driver gets out and has a fag, after few minutes he gets in and the bus starts rattling noisy taking off relatively slowly. Personally I do not care as long as I get to where I want to be going. Do not prefer one over the other its just a different experience. If your egoistic feelings are hurt there is nothing I can do for you, relax and enjoy the ride.
  9. Ripped up and patched basic seats rattling overloaded old buses. I suggest to go and check other developed first world countries in northern EU to see how their busses have developed elsewhere. Sheffield is getting far behind since there is little to no improvement for a while now. When returning from germany netherlands belgium a bus in sheffield certainly feels like a step back in poverty. There is nothing wrong with this since they get you from A to B and it can have a certain romantic quality to do this on a sheffield bus. Many UK people would be too shocked and scared if the bus companies suddenly came with real modern high tech buses. They prefer the old and ancient look and feel of things.
  10. Sheffield buses are getting a lot worse, just like the ones I took on my old backpacking journeys through third world countries in my younger years in the early eighties.
  11. It is pretty clear that the most overloaded busy buses are keeping their prices high most likely because many passengers are bounded to these bus routes with no other option. The routes and companies that are often more empty offer lower fares to fish the customers. And at times buses are very empty some smart bus companies offer very low fares to evening travellers to get some money somehow anyway. My personal experience is that these more expensive ones usually drive worse dirty older rattling patched up overloaded buses than the cheaper ones. It pays to save not just in price but the bus will be better cleaner and not overloaded as well.
  12. If you have a proper intelligent appeal like you suggest it most likely will never go to court. But they will sent many horrible nasty threatening intimidating letters to frighten you. When that happens write back immediately to complain about their attitude and demand big compensations for the psychic damage sleeplessness and unnecessary nightmares these horrible letters cause while you have done nothing wrong.
  13. Taken two stagecoach buses today and have plenty of other options to take first. But usually there's fewer people on stagecoach on my usual route, only problem is their seats appear to have less legroom. But they are faster on my usual route.
  14. Spider man no way home. The best movie we have seen in many years. Even if you're not a particular Spiderman fan this movie is so multidimensional it offers something for almost everyone and brings new life to the film industry.
  15. Get a life. Or emigrate to the moon. When you drive around sheffield you get some traffic. And it is not even half as bad as the American cities where I have driven.
  16. Walked passed a surgery yesterday where two what looked like crowd line up control door people were standing outside asking me if I wanted a booster jab. (I could be wrong about the real purpose of these two people out there but it really was like as if they where there to control any potential crowds that might show up to get a booster) There were no crowds, I was the only person there and got one instantly and there were three people waiting out there when I walked by there ten minutes later.
  17. He says that he was born in Sheffield and now studying law at bath but setting up a food store or restaurant with boy/girlfriend or wife. Sounds pretty messed up. little search on joe lynsky/linsky and you find this is a one year old developing sheffield property management company.
  18. Some of these companies take your money and after sending a confirmation they received your sample you will never hear from them again.
  19. 30 years ago I shuffled a deck of cards and pull three cards to predict when next tram bus or train would come. It is perfectly fine you do not use a mobile but you do give a golden lecture on how to take a tram or bus and wait for it looking at the stars. Your advice is out of date and incomplete for todays travellers. Now all that is needed is for me to speak to my phone asking when the next tram to meadowhall is and it speaks back to me giving me the answer.
  20. Sad thing is that they have to go through all this much trouble for such little small pay increase. The extremes have grown too large now and many of these lower wages have become a new modern form of human slavery again.
  21. I know you prefer to just go and wait. https://bustimes.org/map#14/53.381/-1.47 Now this is not the golden solution cause not all buses GPS function properly. But it does help locate most of them.
  22. I do not desire it either, just the fact it was the main way for trump to get his message across says it all. But it has been ever so useful when supertram had an accident or mechanical issues and yes this should come on the LED displays but when you stand in the cold twitter has been much better giving immediate up to date information.
  23. Yesterday sheffield councillor about our buses. Councillor writes letter to complain the unexpected suspension of bus service - YouTube Wish him all the best personally see more use in thanking those drivers who are still out there coming for us than complaining at their employers.
  24. My dad is 81 and knows what twitter is, Personally I dont like it either and don't have it installed on my phone but I always google supertram sheffield twitter to see any right up to date delays or cancelations. This can save a long wait for nothing when something has happened again. Yesterday sheffield councillor about our buses. Councillor writes letter to complain the unexpected suspension of bus service - YouTube Wish him all the best personally see more use in thanking those drivers who are still out there coming for us than complaining at their employers.
