  1. 3 days before my 64th birthday..Boohoo! Better stop paying into my pension pot.
  2. Aye... I wonder what your average bank would charge you over 30 days for a £100 unauthorised overdraft? I'm sure someone on here could give us an answer...
  3. I think he means can't pay back on the date agreed. So then it gets rolled over to the next payday, with just the interest paid for that month.. This is what makes PD loan companies happy. ---------- Post added 18-10-2013 at 20:16 ---------- Finance should be taught in schools as one of the most important subjects.. ---------- Post added 18-10-2013 at 20:23 ---------- Payday loans are frowned upon by banks. If they show up on your credit report(even if you never missed a payment) the banks are less likely to lend..They see it as someone who is desperate financially. ---------- Post added 18-10-2013 at 20:26 ---------- They lend to businesses turned down by the banks. Do you think business owners are all thick?
  4. Who is Hewitt? James Hewitt. Google some pics of him and compare with Prince Harry.....
  5. I guess social work should get involved. I know someone who lives on a farm right out in the sticks up here in Scotland. The carers don't have a problem getting out there to tend to his mum who has dementia.
  6. Nope! Sorry no link (will have to work out how to post them) Watched it on the tv last week and it gave a breakdown of who uses payday loans and the age range.
  7. It's not upsetting "a few parents" though is it? It affects millions surely.
  8. That's easier said than done FB. it broke my GFs heart when she realised it was time to find a care home for her mum. Her mum had lived with her for a couple of years, and even though she had care-staff visiting twice a day (while my GF was at work) her mum was still alone and vulnerable for a big part of the day. When dementia really takes it's grip, that's when the hard work really starts. Getting up in the middle of the night because mum has fallen out of bed and is screaming. Leaving the house half-clothed anytime of the day. Personal care (lots of it) Turning on the gas cooker and forgetting. Anyone who thinks they can put up with this, and refuses to seek professional residential care, just so they can hang on to their inheritance doesn't(in my book) have their parents best interests at heart.
  9. Yoof of today! You would probably find the majority of people using payday loans are in the late 30s - 40s age range..
  10. The general public do get upset at the cost and inconvenience caused by striking teachers. Most intelligent people would be peed off. Less successful citizens may harbour resentment?? Stop being a snob!
  11. By causing misery amongst the general public surely alienates them even more.
  12. In an ideal world that would be great. Nowadays though most families rely on 2 wages coming in. ---------- Post added 17-10-2013 at 12:22 ---------- Good point alchresearch! Not going to happen is it though?
  13. I would be living with that idiot....
  14. I do yes! Too much technology relies on power these days. The government would be a laughing stock the world over.
  15. I wouldn't get too excited Zamo. The government could easily close any loopholes (well the tories anyway)
  16. The lights will never go off. It's scaremongering...
  17. Kidneystone.. Is that you in your Avatar getting refused for a payday loan?
  18. Calm down Raymondo! Would you jump up and down with joy if you had to use your own precious holiday entitlement to stay off work to look after your kids? Or maybe a bit dent in your salary to pay for extra child care?
  19. So OAPs invest in energy companies to make a few quid. Then use the few quid they make to pay their energy bills.. Makes sense to me..
  20. Never had a problem.. Delivery option for me is a petrol station just down the road. This saves me having to wait at home. I saw a couple of pairs of Cat boots in a shop called Office in Glasgow town centre,so I tried them on.They looked great and very comfortable, and were priced at £100 a pair. I went home and looked on Amazon and purchased both pair for £110.Saving me £90. I always read through the reviews,as the sizes can be a bit all over the place.
