  1. Yeah, sometimes it only takes a simple solution like that. Computers are strange things!
  2. I know you should be getting what you pay for here but to me even 10meg is fast! I live in a small village in Chesterfield and the fastest we ever get is 2meg! But still, it is totally unfair how broadband providers advertise their 'up to' speeds. I would complain to Virgin if you see your speed keep dropping. Regards, Josh.
  3. The Canon 550D is probably the best camera you're going to get for that sort of money. It really is amazing if you know what you're doing with it. We mainly use the Canon 5D but we're used the 550D a couple of times and it is extremely impressive for the price. What are you planning to use it for? Photos or Video? Regards, Josh.
  4. It's a real shame about Yahoo Site Explorer as it was a great tool for SEO. There are things out there like Open Site Explorer and Majestic SEO but sadly these are all paid alternatives. The best bet for now is probably Firefox or Google Chrome Extensions. There are some decent extensions out there such as the ones listed above though. I would imagine there someone will create something similar to Yahoo in time. Regards, Josh.
  5. I'd imagine the fact that it is Jailbroken would be the cause of this, it shouldn't make any difference in terms of networks (3, Vodafone etc). I would restore to factory settings then see how it is. You can always jailbreak the phone again if needed.
  6. What do you use your computer for mainly? And what problems are you facing with it that you feel you need to upgrade for?
  7. Hi, this sounds a bit abnormal, I'd take it to an Apple store and tell them about it, they might be able to sort you out with it possibly. My girlfriend took her iPhone 4 back to the Apple store a month or so ago with a problem regarding the home button and they gave her a brand new one there and then. It was still under warranty though, but still worth a try. Regards, Josh.
  8. You can do a lot with templates these days and you can get great ones for no more than £50 I'd say. Ecommerce ones too. It might be better to start off with one of these and just have a logo designed. Then you can always move to a custom design when you start making money etc. Regards, Josh.
  9. Hi, looks quite decent as it is, although I would agree with MoZaLaN and get a premium theme as they are quite cheap and do a great job. http://www.themeforest.com is a good site to take a look on, or http://www.templatemonster.com Also, perhaps a better title tag on the homepage, and a meta description too. Regards, Josh.
  10. Guess it depends what your site is about/selling to a certain extent but never underestimate the power of Facebook and Twitter when it comes to attracting attention. I would echo what snoopJiggy said in regards to Facebook being the best for attracting attention. I had a site that gained thousands of visitors every month just from Facebook previously. Also, SEO is the way to go, although will depend on how competitive your keywords are. Just remember, don't expect overnight results with this, it can take months to gain a good position if you do things right but will pay off in the long run! Let me know if you need any help/advice/SEO etc. Regards, Josh.
  11. Looks like I'm the only one here that likes the new design I wish they'd bring back that right hand sidebar on video pages that show's more videos from the same user instead of just related videos though! Anyone else feel like this?
  12. YouTube is always a good one! Often spend too much time on there!
  13. I would recommend that you start this as an online venture but make sure you get a good looking website (that is also well coded) and that you spend some money (or time) or SEO for your website. If you manage to get your sit up there for some good keywords, you will do well! Although this can take a bit of time.
  14. What keywords are you targetting for your site? Also, in regards to the platform for a new site, CubeCart is still a good option, as is osCommerce and even Wordpress sometimes. I would ask a web designer which the best platform would be for your site. Josh.
  15. If you run any kind of business these days, I'd say having a Facebook Page for your business as well as a twitter account is an absolute necessity. Never underestimate the power of social networking sites like these as they can bring in a lot of business. Having said that however, it is important that you use it properly. Having had a quick look at your page Laura, it looks pretty good There are a lot of ways to generate more attention from Facebook such as adding a Facebook 'Like' button to your actual website. It is also a great idea to have a blog on your website that you regularly post on and then share the content on Facebook. If your content is good enough, other people will choose to 'share' it and then it can often go viral! As I said, Twitter is also a great tool for marketing and it only takes 10 -15 minutes a day to tweet a few relevant bits and bobs. Hope this helps.... sorry for ranting a bit!
  16. Hi, I agree with indizine, you just need to change over your name servers with 123-reg (which should be able to be done on the control panel). Then just upload your website with your new host and you're done! Also, £166 is crazy, you can probably get it free if you try, although its not that reliable usually. Josh.
  17. Hi, By BNI referral group, are you talking about a networking group? I've been looking for some networking events in Sheffield recently so this would suit me hopefully. Let me know more details if you can. Josh.
  18. I went to this place when it was HAHA and I've been wondering what the deal was with this Browns thing. Food was pretty good when I went actually and I thought it was a nice place in a good location. Not been since it became Browns though...
  19. I would recommend taking a look on Tripadvisor or Yelp if you are not sure
