  1. If you are parked on the path or on a corner you dont have a leg to stand on with regards getting your car repaired on your insurance as you are illegally parked. The bus or car that hit yours can also claim their full insurance excess off YOU. So parking your car on the path or corners can cost you some hefty excesses these days up to £500.
  2. I'm in Tinsley and there are no pubs open at all now. We have to go to Brinsworth or go into Rotherham or Sheffield. http://www.sheffield9.net/wincobank is looking for local editors to add content such as history, clubs, associations, photos and events. If anyone is interested email [email protected]
  3. I have a 40 year old 2 stroke BSA super bantam 175cc. Not got a battery but the engine, frame and wheels are good.
  4. There was alot of press last year regarding inland boating on canals with the closure of several waterways. You may find that as people stay at home instead of going abroad you will get enquiries. With all the flight chaos who wants the hassle. The best self employed job is taxi driving as these guys earn less than £6,000 per year yet go on holiday abroad for two months and own newly modernised £150,000 houses.
  5. No, it is not that time yet. I think it should be harder to keep a licence for bad driving. Anyone caught driving without a licence should be dealt with as a potential murderer.
  6. Sounds like boths sides of your house could have encountered some water ingress. I would get your roof checked rather than look at ground problems. Subsidence signs are usually diagonal cracks in brickwork or plaster nears doors or windows, caused by drainage, vegetation or underground works.
  7. My parents have a portfolio of houses in Sheffield and sometimes it is not possible to visit the premises themselves. I help out as I live locallly and can visit the tennants as soon as an enquiry is made. I have helped renovate most of the houses and know the structure and services well so I am able to give a quick indication to the landlord if the remedial work can be done straight away, a time slot needed for the work to be done, or contact associated tradesmen with the need for a time for the tennant to be in. There should be no need for a visit to see how you are getting on. Saying that though they may be trying to give you that little bit of extra help. As I live locally I have a wealth of information to help tennants ease themselves into the area and have lots of friends that they can associate with if they want to. Paying a visit isn't always clipboard and pen.
  8. I wouldn't waste your time on rights just leave peacefully. Fill in the council housing paperwork yourself as soon as you can and tell them how long you have lived as a council tennant.
  9. You could look at http://www.workingmums.co.uk for some ideas.
  10. I wouldn't renovate it to such a standard as to cap its usage unless you are sure you have a tenant that will take it on as a cafe. Most business owners will have an exact idea of how they want to premises to look. Just keep it bright and clean.
  11. If you want to target the older market who are not internet savvy then you need to ask them. There is no point asking the net surfers what the non net surfers do. Traditional media like the local papers you say works. When we used to do upholstery cleaning we put leaflets out in the surrounding area as you have to back up your message at least 3-10 times before anyone will remember your business. The client would then say we had someone do a brill job on their sofa and the neighbour would say oh we had a leaflet from them, so there is a start. An article every so often in the paper will keep reminding them. The problem with flyers is they soon end up in the bin so if you post something useful like a calendar sticker of fridge magnet with your details they can attach the infomation to their appliances. I have one from eon who do my boiler servicing and has their name and phone number on it.
  12. call zd plumbing they act quick. http://zdplumbingheating.co.uk/contact/
  13. Clampers are active in the disabled parking area out of the front of Meadowhall. Park without a badge and you will be clamped. It was free to park in Rotherham after 3pm but that has been stopped now.
  14. You will get alot of people telling you it wont work so the only way to show them is to make it work. Its going to be a lonely push sometimes but keep it up and hopefully when you have the IP safety in place you can let us know how you are getting on.
  15. Contact PC Callout. They are looking for people all the time. You will need transport to get to clients as far as you want to go which brings you in contact with more customers. They only pay on a fix but you do get a nominal fee for attending if you cant. I would use a moped, light on fuel and carry no more than a small set of multibit tools and diagnosis discs. Policy not to take parts away so it is fix on site & order parts if necessary.
  16. The recession hasn't kicked in until the public workers lose jobs so we will be in the pit of it from April. I would suggest more of a soup kitchen than a chip shop.
  17. I went to your home page and used the Loftease link to /Loftease.html. You should use the basic method of optimisation to start with such as title and description/keyword tags. Try to put your style and any javascript information in a seperate linked pages so not to use valuable crawling time.
  18. Like any place you get out what you put in. The local website for Tinsley sheffield9.net has some great info about the place. The houses will stay and people will move on, it is a very fluid area with alot of rented property. This works well for casual workers from everywhere who work in the manufacturing and distribution businesses. I would vote Tinsley as the most cosmopolitan town in Sheffield
  19. Great stuff send some details to [email protected] and I'll put you an advert on the site
  20. That system should be Sheffield wide not just in busy places. There should be a charge for all street parking. Anyone who parks on the road 4 nights out of 7 should pay a street fee.
  21. Depends where you live as you dont want to drive miles away. If you have a gym within a few miles you could make it part of your warm up and warm down to jog there. Going straight after work to the town centre can get frustrating after a while so the sports centres like hillsborough, concord or EIS are an alternative.
  22. There are loads of programs now that let you design your own websites. Dreamweaver is one of the best ones and you can download a trial version from the adobe website. It is a hard topic to learn on your own so enrol on a basic web deisgn course at college. They will take you step by step to create your first page and web links. Do you run a paintball company?
  23. The Magna just off J34 of the M1 from Sheffield to Rotherham.
  24. In order to change your body you will have to change your life. What you have done up to now hasn't worked so it is time to try a different route. The only way you are going to lose 4 stone is through a hole in your body so it is going to get rough and it is something you want to plan over an acheivable time span. Set yourself a goal of 1lb per week as an average and you wont go off the rails with dissapointment after the first few weeks.
