  1. No Russian spy could do a better job than Corbyn in wrecking the European and uk economies
  2. The facts of modern life are food is easy to get hold of and we don't need to move as much to achieve our goals. Low self-esteem is a product of poverty and people relieve that stress in destructive ways.
  3. I made a curry with 4 boxes on a camping trip in Derbyshire one November but I only had one pot on an open fire. I can't remember how I got round the sauce making. It was freezing outside by the time it was ready so it all went. Good stuff.
  4. I cant believe Sheffield Councils position on this and climbed so far up their own back side they cant see the light anymore. https://sheffieldnewsroom.co.uk/news/pavement_parking/ Pavements do not need formal assessments to see if they can be parked on or not. It is clear from the engineering where cars can go and where pedestrians are supposed to feel safe walking. Why the London only law on parking on pavements cannot be made law across England is ridiculous. Cars are getting written off and people especially motorcyclists and cyclists are getting seriously hurt on the roads because of this.
  5. Those burglaries where cars are stolen along with items have been named Hanoi burglaries and cause double trouble, especially if the stolen car is then used to commit further crime. Your local NPT can provide crime prevention information and have recently updated the booklet. NHW scheme do work if you join then and have a 20% discount on ERA alarms at the moment. The best method of preventing burglary is to have the right locks fitted, deterrents are just that and don't stop burglaries from happening. Yorkshire it seems is where lock snapping is most prolific.
  6. That is a bit like me saying "I like dogs" and you say "So you hate cats." Ridiculous assumption. It is not the price of the houses, more the size of them and their effect on the 50 year ago planned infrastructure for the area. Cars are parked on the roads because the drives have been built on and the bin lorry has to visit twice because of the size of the larger bins people are having. I would like to see the council tax price rising for these type houses and to pay for the services they use and not wait until the house is sold as these things will never be sold, they are too custom built. (by slave labour I may add)
  7. It seems over the last decade or so that houses around me are going from a normal 3 bedroom semi-detached house at reasonable and affordable prices to 6 bedroom brick monster structures which build over the side drive and extend half way along extensive gardens with dorma windows in the roof. These houses will no longer be affordable when they move and the council tax will be horrendous. Why has this been allowed?
  8. When I have been for a swim at Westfield the changing rooms are mixed. The separate showers and toilets are signed male and female.
  9. Not so if you read this article are dogs deterrents? If you are keen on burglary prevention read this. They also have a page about window security.
  10. The guy that runs the twitter @ParkingSheffield gets a medal from me for organising the "parking like a "well you know"!" picture library on the subject. I'm not sure if the drivers are completely unaware of what they are doing or just don't care at all.
  11. It doesn’t look like the new defence walls at Meadowhall will be tested just yet. Like before, the high levels of water will carry on into Doncaster, Goole and into the Humber
  12. They used to be camouflaged on the carpet but now we have hard floors they stick out a mile and can get some speed up. I chuck them in the pond for the fish
  13. People can have as many cars as they like as long as they are responsibly parked at no one else’s inconvenience. There will come a day like prince Philip where you will have to surrender your licence. As a pedestrian bin days are bad as the pavements are blocked by both cars and bins. I would like to suggest a half way ban on pavement parking from 7am to 7pm and train community groups to deliver any fines to their cause.
  14. Congratulations to Sir Geoffrey Boycott for being Knighted for his services to cricket. It's great when you can be so polarised into what is black and white and be blind to the colours in between. It is never that straight forward and I can see a man that has done his best despite what some people think. Elvis Presley wrote in the back of his bible “To judge a man by his weakest link or deed is like judging the power of the ocean by one wave.” I have to feel sorry for some of the posters as to their lack of life experience and tolerance.
  15. The image of the roundabout is incorrect as it excludes a small lane before 3. Left indication after passing the small exit. If the intended was at 270 degrees or North then I would indicate right. Junction 2 is just over 180 degrees so I would indicate left after passing 3
  16. It’s all massively destabilising and achieves nothing new. Putin and Keqiang must be laughing their head off.
  17. I just watched a clip of a Danish rider getting a mouthful after he hit a flooded corner and came off in the time trial today. Thel be orate
  18. I cant see free public transport working as it has to be sustainable first and foremost. If the costs of time, value and convenience were able to be calculated then people could make the decision to reduce car usage. There are loads of schemes evolving online from electric scooters to hiring cars for the hour using an app. Car ownership is set to drop as the damn things get more complicated to service and people go for maintenance packages People don't want to ride bikes on the road anymore as it is deemed too dangerous. We could make it illegal to work more than 10 miles from where someone lives to make them think more about their commute.
  19. If they have promised you a lead and you haven't received that lead then it is miss-selling and you should be entitled to a refund. Try bark, I get a few leads a day and they have a guarantee.
  20. No point in starting a new thread, if there is one already on the subject. My door wasn't closing properly and a friend suggested getting it re-aligned as the summer heat can warp the frame slightly. I called these kind Sheffield people who do upvc door repairs. The door is like new again and hopefully will stop the neighbours complaining about having to bang the door shut.
  21. Well there you go, let the Anarchy commence Get you ultion locks fitted and the barb wire coils out.
  22. When they were bailed out nearly a year ago for 900M I thought they would go to the wall then, but people have kept buying their holidays. Jet 2 in Leeds have expanded massive over the last year so it could be where people are placing their confidence. When Monarch Airlines went bust it wasn't long before people could re-book almost on the same flights and hotels.
  23. Q car parks have a SCH discount scheme for workers, ask HR
  24. I went past there about 1130 and the cars were on the main road
  25. A long time ago I had a chip board base with a planed softwood frame underneath which worked well for pinning the track.
