  1. All that he is saying is that at this stage nothing can be ruled out. Suitably circumspect ,If unpalatable for a 3 week old variant that has yet to be assessed.
  2. What a poor business model. Send a personal message to Nigel Farage would raise more money.
  3. Is that the same Anna that said Covid was a type of flu?
  4. Which demonstrates that you only find the information that you are looking for
  5. again Ive never been so insulted in all my life. So Conservative policies are the fault of the opposition.Interesting.
  6. The vaccines are doing a great job,and coupled with better treatments for those who are hospitalised.
  7. @Chekhov So I suggest you direct your comments to your Conservative friends who are in power and have been responsible for every mandate so far.
  8. Any of the mandatory decisions come from only one source and that is the government of the day. Everything else is advisory and opinion which all individuals are free to agree /disagree or partly agree, but it won’t make a blind bit of difference. So whilst it might serve a purpose to vent your spleen at all and sundry on here or Facebook,Twitter or whatever nothing changes until there is a change in the majority view in the meetings at No.10
  9. Ignoring the absolutely stupid posts from Saturday evening ,but acknowledging those who put a contra view ,the only thing that we have to hope for is a developing immunity or resistance to the virus. So I’m more than happy with the response to the vaccine campaign.Without it the freedoms that we have enjoyed over the last year ,albeit intermittently ,would have been less frequent. So congratulations to those who have contributed and I hope some of the waverers will take up the offer. A very few will not.
  10. There might be some logic behind it all,but it escapes me. Germany applying similar rules. Holland entering lockdown. Presumably there are no changes to border controls in EU mainland Europe so if Omicron is already present and multiplying what is the aim. Anyway ,Sorry to hear of your predicament which will apply to quite a few I would think.
  11. I don’t think that you would be able to detect any difference as to how the two factions have carried on with their lives over the last year. However when the Cabinet Minister whose only remit was to tie up the loose ends dangling after a rushed agreement walks out on the job there must be concern. The bumps in the road stretch out for a few miles yet.
  12. I think that you would need an Honours Degree
  13. See Brexit thread..... Lord Frost hands in his notice. Will Liam Fox step into the breach.
  14. It’s a good job that Brexit is done isn’t it
  15. It has been mentioned on here before but everybody wants a similar outcome which is that there is no necessity for future lockdowns or restrictions in the way that we live our lives. There seems to be a few who are itching to say “I told you so” when their information is certainly no better than the numerous specialists who work in the appropriate disciplines. The common remark from these specialists is that they just don’t know yet or it’s too early to tell. Pretty sensible when dealing with a 2 year old pandemic and a 3 week old variant. Some posters are not bound by such reserve and try to pretend that they do have a certainty which may or may not be true in the fullness of time. Keep calm and carry on as they said in the war and that went on a lot longer than the story so far.
  16. I thought that I was endorsing it as being blindingly obvious rather than a revelation
  17. Perhaps GPs can do more jabs a day than you can lay bricks. Cut down on the Twitter and crack on with the job.
  18. It’s good to see that you recognise the various considerations of Science/Politicians/Businesses. However, this truth has not escaped most people. So we hover somewhere between effin overcaution, effin fecklessness, and effin recklessness depending on your point of view.
  19. @SheffieldBrickie The vaccinated will continue to get vaccinated to prevent hospitalisation as far as possible There are millions of people taking daily medicines to maintain their health. Perhaps you do,or should.
  20. Thanks for the warning. If I see someone approaching with a flip chart I will socially distance by about a mile @SheffieldBricky Vaccination is about protection from serious illness whilst infection rates are on the rise. But you know that don’t you.?
  21. IF that should be the case then there would need to be immunisation centres established. You don’t need to be highly skilled to administer a jab Perhaps even tablets.
  22. Outokumpu on Shepcote Lane still produces Stainless Steel of most grades, but I think only then converts to long products. See their stockholding division, for Outokumpu produced sheet/plate but it will come from Finland.
  23. You said that the British public have turned into uninformed and irrational cowards. Now that is crap. Do you go out to work, shopping, socialising, football watching, public transport. Perhaps not.You obviously spend much time selectively scouring the internet to fuel your hysteria.
  24. What a load of rubbish from the guy on the radio and from you who thought worthy of repeating . Who are these frightened and terrified people cowering in their homes. Its a complete fiction. I think that you are confusing the comments from on high with the attitude of the general population who try to go about their daily work and leisure pursuits as best they can. Some might be more wary about transgressing some of the rules or following guidance and that’s about it.
