  1. @Chekhovre misinformation accusation. All I referred to was the indiscriminate comment which was made in March 2020 and even little old me believed that it referred to infection from Covid. So people including kids were at risk of catching and passing on Covid. You seem to conveniently base your comments on the knowledge gained so far and at various stages along the way. I am no supporter of the government in broad terms, but anyone would have had big decisions to make and caution would have been high on the list.
  2. Do you really claim to have read and absorbed that lot.If so I take my hat off to you. Civil Liberties is a tricky subject as evidenced by the highest courts in Europe arguing the toss as to whether an action infringes an individuals or groups civil rights. What Civil Liberties have you lost and would the granting of your Civil Liberties impinge on someone else’s?
  3. That’s your interpretation and not everybody’s. You refer back to a comment in March 2020 since which much water continues to flow under the bridge. You and others still believe that you know it all well before any experts who are working day and night to understand a changing scenario.
  4. But that’s shocking news. That incident pre -dates the earliest recorded case of Covid in China by some distance. ”They” are hiding something from us. @Chekhov Infection from the virus is indiscriminate. Discuss
  5. It certainly does make me think. Could it be the number of people playing throughout Europe twice a week plus the fact that football is much more high profile than other sports. Do you know that most shark attacks happen in less than 6 feet of water..But there again how many people swim in the depths of the Pacific. Makes you think doesn’t it.
  6. That brings up a whole host of questions about quality of life but not really the point I tried to make. You may reach a point where personally I would prefer euthanasia for myself. Before that I am enjoying my 10th year of retirement and hope for a good few more. A privilege not enjoyed by many of previous generations and not in medically advanced countries
  7. I don’t want to add to your concerns but check out your immunity for life assertion.
  8. Don’t forget pericarditis. Another medical condition that you had never heard of before your obsession began
  9. What promise did you understand on the vaccine rollout
  10. Why do you ruin any reasonable concern that you may have with absolute garbage.
  11. My view is that in general terms the advance of medicine has greatly enhanced the quality of life and life expectancy for the majority of civilised populations. Once again it seems illogical to me to be ruled by exceptions to the rule.
  12. It becomes odd when people become obsessive in their search for the truth.Such is the power of the internet that almost anyone can carry out their own “research” which may be general interest at first, but then channels into only looking for affirmation of something that has resonated with them. I have put my trust in the medical profession for almost a lifetime and have no reason to doubt them.We threw away the home medical books when our children were toddlers because it became apparent that we could very easily diagnose symptoms very easily, which lead to unnecessary concerns.
  13. Not totally safe, but safer perhaps. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-59645307 Some more MSM for discussion
  14. Strange times. Nearly 100 rebellious Tories, and Johnson has the total support of Labour. And then we have Thursdays by election. All very interesting.
  15. Only time will tell so let’s all hope that Omicron will prove to be as harmless as it appears to be 3 weeks in.
  16. Now you mention it what is your own prediction for the next 6 months or so.Presumably it would include the above.
  17. It is offered to you and you have a choice. You have never shown any sign of being coerced to my recollection
  18. So that’s your only comment on my post. Its a voluntary vaccine programme that I have full trust in until proved otherwise. So you have no reason to be scared because you won’t have the vaccine. That excludes the sort of trash propagated by The Bricky.
  19. I have no idea.3 weeks ago I had never heard of Omicron. 2 years ago we were just about to learn of the epidemic that then became a pandemic. No deaths were recorded until 5 weeks after the first U.K. cases were recorded. However my best hope is that any future variant is increasingly less threatening. I differentiate between the scientific/medical abilities against how our politicians use the information. I hope that natural immunity becomes a big factor but in the meantime I am happy to take any modified vaccine or tablets that may be necessary .Happily my nearest and dearest have the same opinion. I go no further than believing the vaccine is for personal protection so it is down to personal choice.
  20. Only just catching up on what seems to have been a busy morning on here, but seemingly not in the office. Overall what shines through is the measured and informed posts of some and the hysterical (in both senses) claims of others. The one statistic that really matters is vaccinations up ,hospitalisation down.
  21. Well you are wrong there.
  22. Sorry for butting in @sibon Hecate’s post beats elephants in the room hands down
  23. Are you referring to the vaccine programme or the measures drawn up for plans a,b,c,d etc of this administration.
  24. Believe that if you wish but it’s not true in the majority of cases. Those who opt for the vaccine do so to minimise the risk of severe illness or worse.
