  1. I have no idea. Do you? Give me something to work with. You are so obviously trying to lead this into what will be best for the future. As subtle as a flying brick. Once again I don’t know for certain, but so far you have ducked and dived to avoid giving us your thoughts on where will we benefit.
  2. If that is your conclusion from the two responses I think that your reasoning powers are lacking. I had already suspected that from your other contributions.
  3. The man continues to hear what he wants to hear and disregards the rest
  4. Is post war Sheffield better than pre war Sheffield? For most probably yes. Has closer ties with Europe made our future more secure.Certainly. I hope that I answered your loaded question.
  5. Cui Bono? perhaps. ---------- Post added 17-02-2018 at 19:55 ---------- Well at last we have an answer to the burning question and it’s probably as much as we will get from those who voted leave.
  6. You can’t argue or debate with this man . To quote Paul Simon All lies and jest The man hears what he wants to hear And disregards the rest. Lie,lie, lie, lie, lie lie lielielielielieetc
  7. I am one of the firm remainers and I would welcome an about turn. However,if that’s not to be I really would like to be cheered up,if not convinced by a few advantages that will be enjoyed by us after a Hard Brexit, which was what was voted for. I am just not getting any vision from our leaders, though I suspect that it will be a soft exit if they are to keep the cart on the wheels. What if,perish the thought,we just walk away. What benefits do you hope for. All I’m getting so far is reassurance that it won’t be as bad as many fear, which for me is not sufficient reason to leave.
  8. My priority would be a road upgrade to cut an hour off the journey time.
  9. How simplistic can you get. International trade is enabled by agreements between countries or blocs of countries and has been for many a decade. So the U.K.business community can go it alone or be part of a trading bloc. I have had a “proper gander” at the propaganda and believe that U.K. isolation will be detrimental to our future well being. The survey of small and medium businesses has added their weight together with the large employers, that leaving the single market and customs union will harm their growth and profitability.
  10. More of the same from Boris,The would be P.M and from his adherents on here. Basically things won’t be as bad as some think when we leave the EU. Still nothing tangible or even believable about what benefits we will get that outweigh the risks and costs. I’d love to know which sectors will provide this growth in the UK economy. Our engineering and manufacturing has been in long term decline. Our Steel and motor industry is foreign owned. Our financial services are under more threat than ever before. We will survive but at a cost.
  11. Under Forum Contents menu ,the link to the latest posts has disappeared. What have I done wrong? Thanks My posts also gone. Just got My control panel Message Inbox Quick Links Log Out
  12. I think that you will find that George Soros has a long standing history of fighting against the far right and nationalism.Given his personal background that is not surprising. So in this context his contribution is understandable.
  13. Despite my political and European views I do read the Express.I like their crossword and it’s also good to know what the oppositions up to. I wonder if their editorials and headlines may be tempered now that they are part of the Mirror group. Hope it’s another string to our bow.
  14. As a nation we are beginning to look very foolish, which is rather contrary to the world power that we try to portray.More Little Britain than Great.
  15. Oh no.I hadn’t heard about that, but if you say so. I am more concerned about losing valuable NHS staff originating from the EU.
  16. I have enjoyed of fresh air, good weather and tremendous scenery in Europe as well. Travel has been nice and easy and pretty cheap. Now we will be faffing around with visas, and waiting for the outcome of discussions regarding the immediate future of U.K. based air lines.
  17. Mel doesn’t need to scour the internet to find the potential problems resulting from Brexit. On the Japanese issue representatives of Honda,Datsun Toyota have all warned that they may cut investment in the U.K. For “May”read “Will”Anyone who has had business dealings with the Japanese will know that they don’t wish to be too impolite in their discussions. Half of their output goes into the mainland EU countries and any tariffs and duties will kill this business. We don’t have a major U.K. owned motor business or a domestic market to support one. The Brexit team can use the argument of the other world markets which will be opened up. Apparently it took 9 years to negotiate a deal with Japan so I doubt that argument will be of much influence. Add the knock on effect of job losses through the supply chain, distribution and shipping and I cannot share Carboots belief in good times ahead for the British working man.
  18. I’ve absolutely no idea what that means or refers to . Is it to do with that problem you have after the RTA?
  19. It can’t be much of a different figure i.e.growth outside Europe and growth outside the EU. As you said in your previous post “who knows” My point being we are expending much time and money to achieve “who knows” Lunacy
  20. I assume that this means 90% of growth will be outside Europe. We will I think still be in Europe Unless Trump or Putin have other plans.
  21. I’ve had enough discussion about how bad or how little effect the whole gamut of Brexit options might be. What are the envisaged benefits resulting from the time ,effort and money that we are spending by this process?
  22. Farage would have to be dragged in kicking and screaming. He knows that his aspirations cannot be delivered,so his place is to continue to shout from the touch line. As he said after stepping down from the leadership.”My work is done”
