Anyone else heard 2 loud bangs this afternoon in the East end of Sheffield?, 13.35 & 15.15. Sounded like something really heavy falling or a controlled explosion.

I live in S5 so was probably out of ear shot. But if I lived in S6 I might have heard something.

My mum rang me on Tuesday to say they were 3 Ladybirds in her kitchen. When I went round Wed evening they had gone.

The influx of students must be bigger than ever before, I have been going to the Lane 40 years, including student days and never seen traffic as gridlocked as that. It`s great we attract so many students to the city, but next year Utd have got to request an away game on that day, as many teams do when there are events in their towns/citys. Sometimes having our wonderful stadium, in the heart of this fantastic City can be a hindrance,a team playing right out on the edge of the City, on the Barnsley border, wouldn`t have experienced these problems.

That is a great club too, concert room one of the best around. Used to enjoy food from the hatch, I was a Sunday regular, until we moved, now Lane Top is my club. The stairs are no good for the smokers there though, and the area has a poor reputation, smokers outside have aired concerns over youths close by. Shame about Queens rd, went in for years before Utd home games, but the club was run down, the toilets horrific for this day and age. First game without it this afternoon.

I believe the building is to be developed & extended, not demolished. Parts are to be changed, It seems the chimney stacks are to go. Seems we will soon have another takeaway up there Kfc are taking part of the building, Costa coffee the rest.

Unfortunately though Sheffield is, and probably will always be run by a Labour council

The parking company`s are popping up all over now, it`s such a money making scheme, that they are here to stay unfortunately. I console myself with the thought every who works at one of these places, or installs the camera`s will one day die.
