Half-Marathon On Su 26 March

Recommended Posts

Just a reminder re road closures: from City Centre all the way up Ecclesall Road/Ecclesall Road South, then up Ringinglow Road, round to Dore, and back via Ecclesall Road South. They'll begin early on Su and are usually lifted after some time in the afternoon. Brief details at https://www.supportdogs.org.uk/Event/sheffield-half-marathon-2023

Road closures!

They are doing this to pin us in!

WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!

No, they're really not. It's an event that makes many thousands of pounds for charity, every year. People commit to it to help others, and improve their fitness and mental health.

It's a few hours, once a year.

His first post in 5 months, too. Maybe on that basis we should let him off.

Don't see why it's necessary to close off a city centre for a fun-run when there are lots of suitable parks both local and national within a short distance of travel

Running a half marathon round a park would be rather boring and also logistically difficult. Have to do laps and also a space issue. Dont think any half or full marathon anywhere does this tbf.

Its a Sunday morning with plenty of notice. Plus its not an entire city centre.

Same place every year - why don't they rotate it round Hillsborough Park, or Graves Park?

Why does Endcliffe always have to suffer the burden of the society of bad parking on their day out, and the associated burden of lots of sweaty people adding to the carbon budget of S10?
