Smelly People In Town

Recommended Posts

Got on the bus on Friday, two young lasses sat at the front, omg. Stank like soup or beans. Was disgusting. I always carry a small purse spray for moments like this.

:hihi:  I bet his boffs were delightful! Glad I wasn't sitting at the desk behind him in class.

I was in Lidl in town about 2 weeks ago, and the smell from one of the customers and her daughter was vile - stale B.O. Uggh!

I should've sneaked some bars of soap in her trolley when she wasn't looking.

I went in a shop today in the city, no checkouts just self service tills. The guy who was manning them was ripe. To the point I had to hold my breath when there was an “unexpected item in the bagging area”

At Hillsborough swimming baths there used to be slipper baths They  were large individual baths  to get washed in with plenty of hot water. Many folks came home from work dirty and did not have a bath at home.

There are lots of smelly people in town. And I don’t just mean the obvious suspects that frequent the Cathedral area. There were stinky people in shops - unwashed, B.O.  And on buses of course. Now I’m not being horrible, I know some might not be able to afford to wash clothes and shower as much as they should. And others might have mental health issues or disabilities.  And there’s always going to be a few deliberate soap dodgers. But in a supposedly civilised, first world country shouldn’t people be able to afford to wash properly and those unable to sort out their own personal hygiene have help? I know in the scheme of things it’s trivial but I do also think it’s a symptom of inequality that is getting worse.

TBH I'm more bothered by the smell of those who reek of chemicals and perfume.

We used to go to Corporation street slipper baths and if you did not wash the grunge off the bath when you had finished the lady would give you a right rollocking.
