''The war on men''

Recommended Posts

Disagree with whatever you want, suffering in silence is something many people do, male and female, and for many and various reasons, that's just how some people are, and I have not even mentioned caring for others on here so I'm not sure why that is in your reply to me

Your arguing against the point that I know lots of women who just go about their lives happily and are contented with their lot, like the vast majority of other people do. The snowflake comment is aimed towards those precious young feminists who have hardly experienced life and are happy to blame everything on what they call the patriarchy.

I have worked in industry all my working life, it's generally very male orientated in the steel and engineering firms, however I know quite a few women who have worked amongst us 'privileged' males in the industry, this was an industrial city in case you have forgotten, and many women worked in the cutlery and engineering factories.

I can tell you now those women could hold their own with any man and I never saw a man brave enough to disrespect them or abuse them, they would have torn him to shreds, so let's stop playing the poor downgraded woman stuff all the time eh, you can suck up all the modern day fluffy nonsense fella I don't have to

One of the best posts ever ,some of the pseudo intellectuals on here should have to work and mix in the real World .

Yes Albert it's beautifully poetic, and I became misty eyed & nostalgic before I remembered that the vast swathes of the UK don't have engineering firms or cutlery factories. Not even many in Sheffield.

Workplace culture has changed since the buffer girls worked in the steel mills, and probably lots of women employees wouldn't take kindly to Pirelli type calendars on display.

The real world, or Sheffield anyway, probably employs more people in education (schools, colleges, 2 universities) than it does in the steel works.

Not offended by being called a singleton too eh :D

What rights have women not got by the way :suspect:

No nerve touched here, I would not come bigging myself up as educated though, I have seen plenty like you that think they are somewhat superior because they went to uni and I wouldn't give ya tuppence for most of them, or their opinions ;)

Here educate yoursen, not all oldies share my opinion, young lass front left talks a bit o sense !

Or try this one, this guy's educated :

And finally :

Legally women have equal rights with men in most of the UK.

Although in northern ireland abortion is still illegal, so they don't have the right to self control over their body.

In reality women still suffer lower pay and many other forms of discrimination.

There is no war on men.

Some men feel like they’re being tarred with the same brush that’s all - there’s nothing wrong with feeling annoyed about that.

Telling people that their race / sex is oppressive will be poorly received by people who carry themselves correctly.

Interesting. You're implying (and that's how "you're" is spelt, by the way) that because women in the past didn't speak out it didn't happen or we didn't care? I'm middle age and can attest that some men really have always needed a nudge into the "appropriate engagement" class. We're not fluffy or snowflakes, it's just we were told to put up with it. I'm guessing that as gammon you will always fail to recognise that. Gammon men really just don't like women.

I can tell you these women had to put up with nothing they made Arthur Mullard look attractive,we as lads had to put up and shut up.

The 'war on men' is a phrase I heard another poster use the other day. Do you agree with me that it's a nonsensical and foolish descriptor, given that men still rule the world - or do you think men are having a really hard time of things?

This was almost too easy :hihi::hihi:

Great thread Halibut

I agree, the workplace has changed, and like everything else not all for the better, but the vast swathes of people in cities around the UK are still predominantly from working class backgrounds, it is the universities, schools and colleges that are the hotbed of (I'm saying it again) middle class fluffiness and where most socialist/leftist/feminist ideology seems to come from.

Buffer girls were employed in cutlery manufacturing btw not steel mills ;)

Ok teacher you got me on the spelling/grammar :D

Appropriate engagement ?

What do you want men or robots, they all had mothers, wives, sisters where did it all go wrong then ...... bad fathers perhaps ?

Who told who to put up with what ?

Gammon men just really don't like women ?

Now you're sounding like you don't like men ;)

If people are doing the same job, the same hours etc I have no argument, never have, they are covered now legally, but those who harp on about the gender pay gap and then try to compare the nail & beauty technician to the aircraft technician (extreme example I know) are misleading themselves as well as those who blindly follow.

They've been legally entitled to the same pay for about 50 years. It still doesn't always happen in practice though.
