The Police were on Wincobank hill yesterday searching. I hadn't heard any news about it at all until then.

 

They were down at the canal next to Tinsley viaduct this morning with the underwater search team and the helicopter was above .

UPDATE: Body found in search for missing woman

 

Officers searching for missing Sheffield woman Angela Simmonite have discovered a body.

 

Search teams discovered the body of a woman in the River Don close to Fife Street, Wincobank, this afternoon (Friday 1 December) and while formal identification has not yet taken place, officers do believe it to be that of 57-year-old Angela.

 

Angela was reported missing from her home address in Ecclesfield on Saturday 25 November.

 

Her family have been informed of the discovery and continue to be supported by officers.

 

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place later to determine cause of death.
