Marx   10 #13 Posted April 21, 2016 I was reading earlier about how Greek Phil used to play around. Apparently he did it with Katie Boyle. There are also rumors that the youngest two princes aren't his children.
 Share this content via...
natjack   10 #14 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Thought the Queen looked really smashing today. Really don't know where HM and Philip get their stamina. Good for them.  Happy 90th, shame about the cake, but it was a freebie, so not all bad. Wouldn't have minded a slice mesen.  ETA There's always some mean spirited old gossip around to spoil the party. Marx, today that's you! Get back under ya bridge! Daven   10 #16 Posted April 22, 2016 She might make a 100 years as her mother did, very similar genes. In 10 years time, Charles (and Camilla) may not have the same level of interest as they do today !  It's entirely possible that she will outlive Charles which means that Prince William will be the next monarch - hurrah ! glennpickard   10 #19 Posted April 23, 2016 when I review the comments about the Queens birthday, I see there are less than 10% that are negative & cynical. Even if you are anti-royalty, just for one day you could at least acknowledge her achievements and dedication to the country (more than anyone else) and with a long & positive track record.  Yet we still unfortunately get such spiteful people given a voice. "Rumours" they quote, to question the Queens fidelity to Prince Phillip and his to the Queen.  Get a life, find something to do. If you can't say anything positive, please do not contribute at all, we can manage without you !
 Share this content via...
rachelk   10 #20 Posted April 25, 2016 I am still in shock at the sight of the Queens birthday cake I couldnt wait to see it as it was kept a closely guarded secret until the big day . Surely im not the only one to say or think how awful it was . I thought it would have been a delicate beautiful cake with pastel coloured icing and flowers just something nice for the Queens 90 th birthday
 Share this content via...
Leah-Lacie   10 #21 Posted April 25, 2016 It was definitely wonky. Seen people commenting saying it's a 'mad hatter style' cake and supposed to be wonky but I don't think it was, or it'd have been even more wonky. The icing wasn't as neat as it could have been but the Baker, who's name has just escaped me, did say she was extremely nervous and shaky so that could be why.  I wasn't impressed with it at all! Yes those tremendous achievements of hers, all those incredible things she's done to make our lives and this country better... like for example... er.... oh  For the record I wasn't gonna say a thing on this thread and would've left it to you royalists if you didn't come on and pretty much say I have to, and imply that I should be grateful and all subservient-like ("acknowledge her achievements and dedication" what a joke )  Any day's a good day for republicanism, days when the monarchy is in the news especially.  Just ignore the mudslinging if you don't like it, don't come on here and demand either our obedience and attention or our silence, I find that offensive.  You're probably right about the numbers, 90% of people not being cynical about the queen sounds about right. That's all the more reason for republicans like me to speak up, you should all be cynical about her with us! JackK0 Â Â 10 #23 Posted April 25, 2016 I also thought the cake looked really bad. It looked such a mess the striped icing on the second tier wasn't neat and no decoration that required any skill just one big disaster. Â I just can't believe that it was presented to the Queen! We have had to suffer electioneering for nearly two years, with the result that the choices have come down to Donald Trump or some equally incompetent guy, who was born in Canada, or a woman who demands a quarter million dollars for an evening visit by her, and an old man who's more socialist than the UK
 Share this content via...
