How to reduce crime

Recommended Posts

Greater Manchester Police have unveiled a new rainbow-themed patrol car, as part of a bid to tackle hate crime reporting.

Not sure what duties the Police are meant to do. I understand the NHS is meant to prevent ill health, as well as fix us once we are unwell.

At times of cuts to Police funding, should they be distracted by a fancy job on their cars.

I know councils have adverts for their adoption service of the back of their vans.

I havnt seen a Police man/woman walking the beat in years.

Have you not noticed SYP cars?

They all have a rainbow sticker in the car. Apparently it's so folk know they can report homophobic offences!

Is there such an offense?

I know that people can get locked up for longer if the crime is motivated by race, is it the same with homophobia?

Hate crime should carry a fitting sentence, for all offenders.

Why should it be any worse for my gay friend to be murdered for being gay than it would be for my wealthy friend to be murdered for being wealthy? I genuinely don't understand how this is so?

I think because there is a recognition that such crimes are under reported, and society through parliament and the criminal justice system have deemed that crimes against people in one of the protected characteristics also breach the core liberal values that Britain wishes to aspire to like tolerance & inclusion.
