L00b   441 #13 Posted March 22, 2013 Saw her this morning outside Howden House. So, here we are, discussing an activist claiming no more than what women expect in a reasonably egalitarian democracy (and which is, after all, what the national 'revolution' in her country promised) and, when there is a credible report that she has since disappeared, so might now have been abducted and killed by religious extremists for her beliefs...that's what you can come up with?  Shame on you, mate
 Share this content via...

quisquose   10 #15 Posted March 22, 2013 From Maryam Namazie's site:  UPDATE: There are reports that Amina has been seized by her family and possibly the civil police and been hospitalised in a psychiatric hospital.
 Share this content via...
cressida   1,586 #16 Posted March 22, 2013 Death threats - doesn't surprise me, a total over-reaction by 'they who must be obeyed'  Why she posted a picture of her breasts online is questionable, what was the point? If it was to attract males she would hardly be getting the respect of any decent one:confused:
 Share this content via...

At some point they're going to have to realise that having breasts doesn't make women property, now's as good a time as any. It's a silly way to protest really because now the extremists will say you are trying to spread your pornographic ways onto muslims and there is the point that the protester isn't a muslim either.  ---------- Post added 22-03-2013 at 23:14 ----------  Hear hear.  Shame it seems her bravery is reportedly being classed as a mental problem, though i guess that's a good get out clause for the backwards.  So getting your tits out for others to see is a good thing that all women should do? She's making the point they are her breasts and it's nobodies business but her own what she does with them. Brave soul as the head of Peace and Tollerance in Tunisia has now backtracked on his initial wishy washy liberal stance that she be whipped within an inch of her life and decided she needs to be stoned to death.  Which is nice, if you're a fan of barbarically murdering people for protesting about basic rights.
