Where's Spot
If Evans did appeal and there was a trial, could McDonald then be found guilty at that trial? Double jeopardy comes into play - McDonald can only be tried again if there was significant new evidence that the first trial did not hear. missymoo73
there must have been reasons and hard evidence in court for this decision to be made Lets hope so otherwise it doesnt make sense Lettie
sheffgrow
I'm quite sure in most job's he would have been suspended until the employers found out if the person in question was guilty or not. Another sign of footballers getting "special treatment"... like yours were?

SpecialPG
I think you'll all agree,it makes Swan,Lane and Kay pale into insignificanceyup and if united do get promotion in 2nd place they will owe it in part to the 35 goals scored for them fielding a convicted rapist, although he wasnt convicted at the time, no one will care.. JtotheC
yes you can, it was changed to retry the stephen lawerence suspects Was that not based on evidence not used though and therefore technically new evidence.

Where's Spot
yes you can, it was changed to retry the stephen lawerence suspects They were only tried again because there was significant new evidence. Without that there wouldn't have been a second trial. That's why Stephen's three other killers are still free - there wasn't any new evidence against them. iansheff
The only people who truly know what happened that night are the people that were there, it's no good speculating saying she must have known what was going to happen because we do not know.
